We used to have similar music tastes (my mother). But as she's grown older, she's detested it. She doesn't een let me sing anymore.

My parents call my music "noise", and shouldn't be classified as music. rolleyes.gif

Do you listen to Emo shit? If so, I agree with them.

have your parents commented on your taste in music?

do they like it? or loathe it?

my mom always says how "...back in in the day children were more..." because they didnt listen to stuff like this.

most of my music is too vulgar for them. if they hear it they get this look on their face like they ate something rotton

My parents just make fun of it by singing it back in a really loud and obnoxious way. wacko.gif Eh, but their foreign music isn't exactly my cup of tea, either.

My parents flip out if even a whisper of rap is audible to them, but since I listen to KPOP, they can't really say anything to me.

My Mom doesn't like some of my music but then she likes the rest. There is a limited amount of music of mine that she likes.

My parents are stuck in the 70's-80's. Anything made from 2000 onwards is silly and weird and shouldn't be called music, according to them. So basically all the stuff I love = epic fail.

What scarred me for life was when we were in the car, and Lil Jon's Get Low came on, and my mom said "Oh, turn it up." and proceeded to sing along to "TO DA WINDOWWWW. TO DA WALL TO DA WALL!" Movement and all.

Not really, they don't really mind what music I play because they're rarely home 99.99% of the time. And when they are home, I don't blast my music so it doesn't bother them. :D. They actually sometimes use some of my Chinese music and they listen to it in their cars. XD.gif. It's kind of weird having your parents listen to the same music as you e____e. My parents have a huge dislike for Rap and Rock, so I try to not play it when they are around, but when they leave, *switches playlist* shifty.gif

LOL, oh jeez.

Yeah, we agree on some things like Michael Buble but my rock or alternative stuff, not so much.

Moved to entertainment btw just cause I think it fits a bit better there. _smile.gif

hmm, my parents are from india so they can't really understand the music i listen to. they don't have to deal with it anymore though since i'm in college and i have my ipod =)
but if i'm in the car with them, i'm kind of selective because they can catch certain words!

I remember I was listening to Eminem one time in the car with my dad, and he totally flipped out. He asked me if I understood a word Eminem was saying, and then yelled at me for all the swearing when I said I did.
... I think he just hates all rap music.

My mom, on the other hand, doesn't really say much. I know she hated it when I used listened to Korean music, because she thought it was stupid (I don't understand Korean). But that's pretty much it.
