To tell the truth, i started getting into computer design because of myspace, i first learned how to make a link and now im like all into html, css and php so I want to see how many people started their passion because of myspace or any other community sites:]

It's actually a funny story for me. I was a Design Staff with no layouts, and then people are all like, "We're concerned, you need layouts." And then I'm all, "Okay." And that's how it started!

I was a freshman in high school when I signed up for Xanga and I had so much fun fiddling with the codes in my Look&Feel. xD I even remember the first banner I ever made; it was a plain screencap from Kingdom Hearts and I slapped some cheesy text on it (using Photoshop).

I was fascinated by all those different tools in Photoshop. And when I saw the layouts on Xangans.com, I was motivated to create my own.

Yeah, pretty much xanga lol.

Damn, I really wish I still had my xanga stuff. >:[ Haha.

It grew a lot though after I joined cB and learned how to code actual websites and stuff and design not just layouts. At first I was experimenting with grapihcs in photoshop, not knowing a thing, so cB really broadened and helped me.

Yea i started with myspace about two years ago.
Started out making layouts and stuff. then I got into Photoshopping because somebody requested a photoshopped picture.
And I just started fiddling with codes and now i can code whole websites and stuff.

Xanga.
i was like, 10, when i first signed up for Xanga, and instantly i just kinda understood how to edit the codes and such. then a year-ish later, i actually developed some sort of design standpoint, such as colors and what looks ok where. then i got this one program with my webcam when i was 12, and the tools and things i could do amazed me. THEN i got a free trial of Photoshop, and created a Xanga for layouts and such just after i turned 13. i'm 14 now and i must say i'm nowhere near being a good designer but i've improved a lot. Xanga was the door for me.

I hate MySpace and was never [still not] interested in making anything for it.

Xanga FTW!

I actually learned how to code from CB. The Photoshopping part came from random sites with random tutorials.

I migrated for a while (to other forums, and then to other non-forum places altogether) but now I seem to be back on CB. :]

I made my first website when I was 11, and uploaded it to geocities using FTP. This was back in 1998, when geocities URLs had like 10 parts to them. Does anyone remember that? Lol. It was like geocities.com/treehouse/atlantis456/cave123/yourname
XD
And then when I was 12, I got into Flash, and made little Flash games and websites. And then eighth grade was when I learned most of my current HTML knowledge, because I took a class at school.

well for me it was last year (my junior year) in yearbook class. we were introduced to photoshop & indesign & it started from there. i would go on cB at school & try out photoshop tutorials. i then signed up for a cB account but didnt really use it until a month later when i submitted a few pictures of san francisco. then i forgot about my account & revived it when i got photoshop at home. i started submitting tutorials & graphics.

and that's my story biggrin.gif

I started at Geocities, which was an odd place to start. But its true.
I used to make those "dolls" (haha) and wanted a site like all the dollmakers, dollbases, etc. I wanted a site where I could post my dolls. I think I was around 11 or 12.

Web design was because of geocities. It was free and it would let me create any page I wanted out of my imagination.
