I think all people here answered you with a lot of diplomacy. I am so impressive. But I am so surprise to find your tread in "Ressource Center" even in the sub "Designers'Café". I have understood it was a forum for help others.
Can you imagine how people as me can feel when we read something like that ? I have answered before, but I see you continue to knock on our inexperienced html-css head. As I said before we have all our won talents

Yeah, mine has only 5 images, ones the background, 4 are friend's pictures. Heres mine.
And don't view it in IE. It kills it. What I personally hate: Glitter oversized videos/images horizontal scrolling scrollboxes layout generators divs in a non-div layout text effects flash widgets drop down boxes high contrast backgrounds low contrast between the text and the background too many images long load time and etcetera bullshit This post has been edited by superstitious: Feb 5 2008, 08:45 PM

It only annoys me when the profile is unorganized or has too many graphics and videos on it. I hate waiting for a page to load.
But, I'm inexperienced in creating my own layout. I mean, I make my own graphics, then use a generator, because I don't know html very well. I'm still learning. But as it was said earlier some people weren't born with this knowledge running through their veins. We all have to start somewhere. |

that website hurt my eyes...
as for the original issue, it just depends. i absolutely WILL NOT take a second look at a profile with overloaded images and glitters and stupid quizzes and such. or if i see a poorly designed layout (which is most of the time...), i just automatically close that tab. i think you'll find that a lot of designers don't like myspace simply because of this issue, and not just because it's myspace. that's just my opinion though... |
