Well everyone started out somewhere, and most people started out with tutorials, so post your favorite tutorials of all time? Or the ones you started out learning what ever you like best in the design world :D

I actually don't know which tutorials I started out with, since I checked out a whole bunch of sites. But I'm pretty sure I came across a few tutorials that were on CreateBlog at the time.

This tutorial. It is the first one I tried when I joined here. I had been dicking around with Photoshop for a while at that point, but wasn't really getting anywhere. For some reason this is the tutorial I went to. It's sort of a classic in my eyes.
Any of Kristina's are amazing. |

My whole online existence, designs and inspiration came from Cindy at Ancient Whisper.

When I started using Photoshop, I was stupid and didn't know tutorials existed at the time. So I ended up learning stuff on my own. Later, of course, I became aware of them xD.
Some of my favorite tutorials: http://www.vexels.net/tutorials.php |

I started out fooling around on default Microsoft programs and such. When I got Paint Shop Pro I think the first thing I learned was blending.
http://www.createblog.com/tutorials/tutorial.php?id=661 It may or may not have been this tutorial... |

I started with Photoshop Elements. I just had fun with gradients and shapes 'cause I thought they were pretty. Then I got the full version. And I also started taking this course in Photoshop, which I learned a couple things from, but it was out of the creativity box and wasn't really a good class. I don't follow tutorials much, although I did before for blending. I learn by trying.

^ Ooh, now I remember also using Classroom in a book for Cs2 in my Photoshop class. I rather enjoyed using it, pretty easy to understand and everything. Would rather have used that book all day than follow my teacher's instructions.

I've never used a tutorial.
It's much more rewarding to find stuff out on your own. Using tutorial is like a quick cheat. It gets you there without much work, but you don't get that good feeling inside like you do when you figure something out all by yourself. |

tutorials are guide. It's not a cheat sheet to quick graphics/layouts. You build from the tutorials.

My first tutorial was actually on here and was also the way I found this site. And then I got really interested in the whole graphic design thing once I saw all the frickin awesome layouts on here.
www.createblog.com/tutorials/tutorial.php?id=596 When I got my first free trial of Photoshop it was that first thing I tried. |
