Social conditioning. There are far more startling and serious issues in the case of gender identity and gender role within our society - I thought this thread might have been about that. Instead, I'm sorely disappointed.

I like hues of ebony. From tan and beige to deep brown. I'm not sure why, but I have a lot of brown in my closet.

I kinda hate trends. For that, I'll let my son be dressed in pink everyday.

I kinda hate trends. For that, I'll let my son be dressed in pink everyday. It's not a trend; it's a microcosm of a much larger social conditioning machine. Let your son dress in pink as much as he wants, but you aren't going to be winning anyone over having your son the laughing stock of his respective school. I want to torture my kids too, but I'm a bit more traditional: billy clubs and knives. P.S. You can't shake hands with a clenched first, sure... but who the f**k wants to shake the hands of the men that are killing and oppressing their people? A f**king moron, that's who. |

QUOTE it's a microcosm of a much larger social conditioning machine I know this is random but you should look up Brave New World by Aldous Huxley if you haven't already. It's a brilliant novel that illustrates what the worst case scenario 'social conditioning machine' could be. Back on topic... personally I like yellow and purple for bedroom walls but I dont think I would ever dress a child entirely in one color... unless the clothes were ridiculously cute ![]() |

Its funny I never really thought of this idea but I do fit the stereotype though because I love the color pink.

I thank goodness for this color distinction.
Me where I work: *sees mom with child, wearing white* "Awww!! What a cute baby boy!" Mom: "...her name is Jessica. But thank you." That reminds me of this picture: http://img155.imageshack.us/my.php?image=k...girl0001iv9.jpg |

I've always been more of a baby blue myself. My old soccer uniform was baby blue (not my choice), but just thought I'd put that out there :D
