well, i'm very sorry if i seem as if i jumped to conclusions myself. i'm still a little offended in what he said to me. i apologize. i know i shouldn't take it out on you but you were in the chat room when he said what he said, but you did not respond so i was disappointed that you didn't say anything. so, again, i'm sorry. it's ok to insult my intelligence or even my work. but to insult my looks is another thing. maybe i was suppose to be clear about that.

well you're a big girl, surely you can handle yourself. it's not my job to defend everyone, esp in the chat room. you're probably gonna be disappointed in me a lot if that's what you expect from me =/

OKAY well obviously im the only gay person talking on this topic so why dont you just listen to me huh? Okay I'm BISEXUAL and I have dated more woman than men and I am very much attracted to woman. ITS THAT SIMPLE. You all are turning a debate into a immature little fight, LETS BE MATURE HERE...I've endured so much teasing and dissaproval for my orientation, and aparently people here are no better than my family, ex friends, co workers and everyone else who has discriminated against me like I was doing something WRONG. Just GROW THE f*CK up...and stop talking about something that you OBVIOUSLY know nothing about.

Grow up? If I talk in all caps, does that make me mature/grown up? If I curse at people and demand they do something, does that make me mature/grown up? If I pronounce that I'm both gay and bi-sexual, does that make me grown up?

Where the hell did that come from? No need to get defensive. Iverson is on the court, you're in the bleachers. I doubt he'll come over to break your ankles.

Ignore the drama and don't fuel it with your own angst. Please, be stoic in this discussion. Being bisexual, its important for you to voice your claims legitimately, or else you'll torn to pieces in this chat.

Im sorry, I just had an awful day at work I really didn't mean to act so immature. I just really hate it when people take these types of issues lightly and joke about them, because it really isn't a joke I've had 2 friends commit suicide because they endured so much descrimination. I am again sorry for my choice of words.

I'm bisexual, and yknow sometimes you just have to roll with the punches. If you can't make fun of yourself sometimes, then you're being entirely too dramatic.

Of course it's not a joke. That's why it's in the Debate forum. Maybe you're one of the very few/rare people who get Debate confused with Sandbox?

Once again, bad choice of words by insinuating that people here are taking issues "lightly". We wouldn't be debating over it if it's something to be taken lightly.

Oh and it's hypocritical for someone (someone being YOU) who feels like they don't get the respect they deserve because of their sexual orientation, to be here telling us to shut up. KTHXBYE.

Oooo, Trish. whistling.gif

Gay marriage has fallen by 50% in the UK. The article I've linked you to thar suggests the figure is a 'normalising' process, whereas others remain sceptical that with a finite number of gay partnerships in the UK, the figure will continue to drop. There's also discussion that homosexual partnerships do not need their relationship to be recognised by law.

Live and let live.

Wait I'm confused - are you taking what I said and debating against it? Because if so, I mentioned the incest part only to say why people are against incest, not why people are against homosexuality. In any case, I am all for multiculturalism, as I have not mentioned anything against it. If I misinterpreted what you meant, then I apologize for that.

Ah I did not know of the tax benefits and such, but thank you for clarifying that.

Yes, I refuted what you said. You mentioned problems with incest and I wanted to point out that homosexual communities face similar problems. Thus, it follows the line of debate that if homosexuals can form a religion to offset governmental restrictions, people who practice incest (or any other "abnormal" conduct) can do the same. We'll have chaos if everyone and their mother decide that hiding behind religion will solve all problems.

I say they do it like the civil rights movement and wait out for the rest of humanity to catch up. We don't need another religion to screw us over.

Yea, no problem on the tax thing. Enjoy your tax refunds while you can, I'll tell you that I'm not thrilled having to pay for taxes this year instead of getting a check. Being taxed as an independent single adult SUCKS.

Hello friends, I'm back, for today at least.

You don't need to create a new religion to have a gay marriage. The United Church of Christ supports Gay Marriage.

The thing is, there are two types of marriage: marriage in the church and marriage in the state. The government deals with government in the state, the church deals with government in the church. Two separate things. So if your church allows gay marriage, it doesn't mean that you can apply for a marriage certificate from the government. Likewise, if your government supports gay marriage, it doesn't mean your religion has to recognize it.

Debate over.

You still didn't conjure up a scheme to have gay marriage honored by the government universally.

Debate re-opened.

Stephen Colbert had a gay lobbyist on his show 2 days ago. The lobbyist mentioned that the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" wasn't working. Colbert followed up w/ a , "Well, I haven't been asking, but you're sure as hell telling!"

I don't recall ever asking either ^.^ Not to say I have an issue w/ gays or gay marriage or any of that who hah, just saw it as a valid point.

BTW, the sultans play creole.
