So I had my umpteenth blood test today to check for anaemia and fatigue syndome...ah what a sickly moderator I am.

Anyway, I've heard that there are two types of people. Those that can watch the needle puncture their skin; and those that can't.

Personally, I love watching the needle go in and the blood spurt; but my boyfriend near passes out if he tries it. What are you guys like?

Yeah, I (usually) always watch when the needle goes in, but sometimes, I get too scared and look the other way and shut my eyes.

I don't like needles at all, so I usually try not to watch the needle go in when I get blood tests or have shots administered on me. Sometimes I still look anyway; it's a kind of sickened fascination that pulls my eyes to the needle. xD

I can't watch it at all.
I don't like it when long, sharp objects puncture my skin into my veins.
It scares me sad.gif

that is seriously weird. because today I had the exact same test done for the same thing. cool

It depends on whose in the room. If my mom was in the room, me being humerous, say hey mom look! I watch it and she ewws etc.

Today though no one special was in the room, and I didnt watch. It didnt matter if I did or not, just random. But after its in I watch it.

When I was anemic I would have to go in every three months for blood tests. When I was a kid I would scream when I would get my shots, and the first few times I had to get a blood test I would get really nervous, but afterwards I got used to it and it didn't bother me at all. A few times I had a hot (guy) nurse, that always makes it easier wink.gif

Well, sometimes I watch, but now I don't because I got dizzy from the nurses making mistakes on my veins, because I have tiny veins, so I nearly fainted and felt sick afterwards.

I don't mind watching other people get shots and such, but for me, MOST of the time I look away.

I got tested for anemia and fatigue syndrome too!

...I ended up having mono though. stubborn.gif

I always watch the needle go in. I hate it and it (kinda) hurts, but I think not watching makes it worse.

A couple months ago, I had 5 shots. I can actually stand to watch. It doesn't bother me.

I always watch the needle go in, it's cool seeing the needle right under your skin.

I watch, and afterwards. I ask if can get another lolly pop. And they try to make me flinch by saying they have to draw blood again, and I respond with "go head, I'm a crack headed doner. look at all these needle marks on my arm!"

I'm going to admit I'm such a pansy when it comes to needles. The last time I had to get a blood test done I looked away and held my ma's hand.

I think blood tests are the worst, and unfortunately you must get them done for what I want to do. I am dreading having to take one, because they draw blood for like 3 or 4 minutes, but it seems like they are doing it for hours.

I'm okay if I see, but I look away anyway. The sight of blood doesn't bother me, but if I look than I'm likely to think it hurts more than it does.
