How do you know..., your over weight...aka FAT?

I've thought I was fat ever since I was 10. I have had eating problems since I was 15. It caused me to get very sick. I eat everyday now...probly not as much as i should. I weigh 140lbs and think I'm fat. My bf, my familly, my friends, and even the people i work with call me crazy. I'm only 5'3 and I think I should only weigh 110lbs. I grew up with my brother calling me fat and a bestfriend that got every guy over me. I now realize it was because she was a whore, but thats a whole nother story. My measurements are 34, 27, 38. I have a flat stomach but I have a big butt. lol My bf says i should show it off. I think its discusting. I want to be able to fit into a size 2 or 3 pair of jeans...rather then a 7. I dono...am I crazy? or do I need to lose weight?

Most people are not a size 2. Don't try to force yourself to be someone (or some size) that you aren't. If you go to the doctor and ask him what s/he thinks about your weight compared to your height, you'll get a real answer that you can trust. Half the people who reply to this thread won't be serious or will bash you.

my docter says i'm a good weight because I dont just have fat, I have muscel. but i still cant look in the mirror and be happy. If it helps any better, I have a body like Beyonce. She however looks better that size then I do. I dono...maybe I'm just being stupid

you know, you are your own worst critic but the best way to love yourself is to ask what part of my body do i like. if that's that part you like then you make sure that it's known to yourself and the world. i did your body mass index (calculates whether or not you're overweight) and you're not. you are of "normal weight".

Oh, then you should have said so! The muscle thing, I mean. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat, so you aren't fat. Work on toning your glutes, I guess, but it sounds like you don't need to work on any other parts of your body.

Forcing yourself to love yourself even when you're self-conscious is not a good thing, as you're never going to rid yourself of these "I'm fat" thoughts.

Exercise doesn't hurt anyone, and it is a very, very good addition to a healthy lifestyle. If you feel that way, do a lot of cardio. Take some yoga, swim, dance, jog for 25 minutes every day. Exercise makes people feel good. And sex.

lol...sex. haha. well i do agree with the exercise thing. i actually started today. i got one of those leg magic things. i'm going to do that 15min a day then start walking a few days a week. if not for weight loss, i should at least do it to be healthy

Sex is for weaklings.

In addition to cardio, eat at least five complete meals a day to maintain a constant metabolic rate. You should also do some form of resistance training so that your muscle mass doesn't atrophy (shrink) while on a calorie deficit.

Good, good. Just remember that you can't spot-tone. Like, if you wanted to get rid of you legs, you can't just do leg exercises. You have to do cardio, burn the calories, lose the fat, and then start toning to get the body you want.

If you wanted to get rid of your legs, you would use an axe. But yes, you cannot spot-reduce. Resistance training doesn't burn fat to begin with.

Hunny, honestly, size 7 is nothing. You are /not/ overweight, nor are you fat. You just may...have some child chub on you. I'm going to take a guess and say you're normal weight. You don't have to be the typical hollywood blonde size 2. Just be yourself, learn to love your body, start looking at the positive's. Nothing out of the ordinary. :]

haha yeah...i plan on doing work-outs and eating better...not just to lose weight but to be healthy. i have a heart condition wear my body has trouble getting blood to flow to my head...i get light headed offten, horible head aches, and chest pains. my dr. said i can help get rid of this by eating healthier and exercising at least 3 trimes a week. i got this way from starving myself and going on crash diets. i learned from that thow...any girl that wants to starve themselves, deserves a smack. if i would have known i'd end up in the hospital because my heart would get so weak, do to the fact that my body was eating itself, and i'd end up in a near death condition i would have ate ALOT more. my dr. said if i would have continued to do that to myself i was risking my heart just quiting on me. my blood pressure can pretty much drop so low my heart will stop and i could die. i go every other day of my life feeling tired, weak, and just plain un-healthy. i was so stupid for that.

Trust me, I'm 5'3 and weigh 135 (so pretty close to your weight) and I wear a size 8-10 but I'm healthy. A size 7 is a normal size, there aren't many people who can fit into a size 2, the only person I know that fits into a 2 is a friend of mine, but she's very petite (I think she's like around 4'10?). I eat the foods I'm supposed to eat (with an ice cream or two snuck in every once in a while) and get plenty of physical activity in everyday. Your brother is a *beep* for calling you fat and even if he was joking around it's not nice to say something like that and your measurements seem pretty reasonable to me. At least you have a big butt and a flat stomach. XD If only I could just get the fat in my stomach to travel down more...or maybe up since i have a pretty nice butt myself. XD

If you want to lose some weight just go to a gym, go for a walk, run, jog, follow the natioinal food guide, do whatever. Just don't go on a stupid crash diet or starve yourself or something. In the end, being healthy is the way to go~
