Right now, Little Brother has been creepin' on the come up like a harmonizing quartet from Cleveland. But, these country brothas don't harmonize while talking about weed, death and being broke. They're the closest thing to rapping about everyday life since The Pharcyde. Rappers Pooh and Phonte both have easygoing, mellow deliveries, and what they may lack in lyrical intricacy, they make up for inn subject matter.

Their first two albums; The Listening and The Minstrel Show; were produced by the highly accalimed 9th Wonder. Since moving away from 9th, they've still been able to maintain their buzz, as well as their standard (perhaps even raising it a bit). For those ignorant to the undergroundstream (underground that could be mainstream and deserves to be for the sake of success but isn't because the artist hasn't sold out), Little Brother should be a group that you needs to f**ks with.

yeah i ran across the minstrel show a while back and got hooked on Lovin' It. i think the whole album is nice.

i chuckled when i heard,
"one day they give you thumbs up,
the next they telling 9th to go and switch his drums up"

i'm one who thinks 9th becomes a little repetitive at times, all his beats tend to run together for me and sound about the same at times.

but I don't think anyone will give them their just due.

I found out about Murs after watching the Risky Business video on BET Uncut a hot minute ago. The shit was hilarious and the beat was stupid basic, but he was able to flow well. I searched on 'Kazaa' some of his music and I've been a fan ever since.

niceeeeeee. now i finally have something to download. i appreciate it man. i've been so frustrated with music lately. there was a while there where it seemed like i was running across good stuff constantly. i was always listening to something, that featured someone else, going to check them out and finding yet another person they did a song with, it was like a big chain. then it just stopped, or i got busy or something and i've been stuck not really runnin across anything. hopefully murs will kick me back into things.

Murs' new album; MURS FOR PRESIDENT is slated to be released during the summer of this year, just in time for the dog and pony show. Although he's never been a political image in underground hiphop like Immortal Technique, he's made his fair share of remarks about how politics can effect the average brotha's life.

Albums Murs 3:16 and Murray's Revenge were both produced by 9th Wonder, the same man from the JustUs League who introduced the world to Little Brother (and produced for Hova). This connection enabled Murs to reach out to another fanbase on the other side of the country. He still remained LA, though, but made sure his shit was real life.

The subject matter of dude's rhymes are stupid. Not stupider than the Villain though, I keeps rhymes like dimes and my teeth stay munchin' on hoe cakes. The Living Legends vet and one half of FELT (partnered with the highly underappreciated, Slug, of Atmosphere), can deliver rhymes about first dates, skateboarding, the barbershop, vengence and even the identity crisis of the "dark skinned white girl."

Murs gets a +1UP. DOOM might remix a track.

i have Atlantis: Hymns for Disco. i got it for 8 bucks and got a lot more use out of it than i expected. i need to get around to getting more of his stuff. i like the genre mixing sound he has.

Superstar Pt. 2 is a definite bboy essential. The first two albums were more hiphop oriented. For the hiphop purist, they were definitely outstanding. Atlantis is a little spacey for my liking, but its still a nice LP.

Superstar Pt. 2 reminds me of Rhymes Galore by Busta Rhymes. Not that Busta Rhymes song is a bboy song, its just the diction is crazy in both songs.

Im actually surprised that the link to Superstar has BET at the bottom. I heard what the did to LB , and De La Soul - Shopping Bags videos. On top of that they had Cartoon Network cancel the airing of an episode of Boondocks in which it takes shots at BET.

Anyone listening to that DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Magnificent or Return of the Magnificent. I just recently went back to listening to the Return of the Magnificent, chill as heck. Love the track with C.L. Smooth on there.

they've had three albums, but i only have The Healing. they have a carefree positive feel to them, which i like. it's got some catchy beats, articulate and intelligent lyrics. my favorite tracks would probably be Special, Soul Clap, and Rise. they have some good collaborations on there with erykah badu and little brother. they remind me of little brother quite a bit, actually.

it was just about impossible to find any examples online...
