so I do know that there are a few of you out there who follow the fashion world as closely as I do. And now that Spring Haute Couture week is over, what were some of your favorite pieces? Who did you find to be the best overall haute couture line? Worst? Fave themes? AND, goodbye to Valentino. cry.gif

For me, Versace Haute Couture completely blew me away, seeing that I'm usually not a huge fan of Versace RTW. I loved every single Versace HC piece. Elie Saab was also absolutely gorgeous. I could see every one of those pieces on the red carpet.

Givenchy really disappointed me, and their makeup was atrocious. Armani Prive was boring as well, this and many of the other HC lines.

Christian Lacroix was magnificent, with the Spanish theme. And I loved the mermaid theme going on with many of the HC lines, but especially with Jean Paul Gaultier. (not a big fan of the wet hair look either.) Also, the detailing in makeup in the JPG show was just wow.

Overall, the worst show for me, would have to be the Eymeric Francois couture show. To sum it up, it would be Victoria's Secret couture for hookers.

If you want pictures for reference, I would recommend style.com

Elie Saab always has gorgeous couture that isn't all... crazy like Christian Dior. I don't follow couture too much though since I find it hard to appreciate the art part of it... Versace was gorgeous though.

They are definitely classy, not like the super vampy Versace I've gotten used to.

givenchy was pretty, but it didn't give off the feeling of haute couture.

Nina Ricci had this cool night/day thing going, where the first outfits were more on-the-street looking and then came the gowns.

hmm..i'm thinking that Nina Ricci might have been fall couture. I didn't see her at all on the S/S 08 couture list.
