Not sure what topic to put this in, but...do any of you use E.L.F. cosmetics? I've never actually been to the site before, but all the stuff is $1...the mineral stuff is $5. And like, freaking sweet, right?
I just want to know if it sucks or not. |

I heard some really good stuff about E.L.F and some really bad stuff. I'm planning on buying some basics from there. They have these compacts with mirrors. There are 4 little circle trays with the compact. Some hardcore makeup people are obsessed. Basically, a lot of eyeshadow pans from like MAC and NYX cosmetics (which makes really vibrant eyeshadows)fit into the compact easily. It was magnetized before but I think they removed the magnets because everyone was using it for other eyeshadows. I plan on picking up two compacts to load with basic eyeshadows and lipgloss. They're tools and brushes aren't bad. For a dollar, what else can you ask for. www.eyeslipsface.com www.makeupalley.com (you can check the reviews on here. |

I've heard mostly good things about these products. Their shadows seem to be really good and highly pigmented, and apparently their brushes aren't so bad either. Their compacts are a definite steal. I haven't heard much about the face products. The tools are pretty good, too, supposedly. I'd try their eyelash curler just to see if it really is as good as people say it is.
I haven't had a chance to really see the products in person so I never bought anything. I'm glued to my MAC and Sephora, so I don't know. I'd give it a try. Even if the product sucks, you don't have much to lose. |

I've gotten E.L.F. eyeliner before, and it was basically just as good as any other kind of eyeliner.
I have yet to try any of their other products, though. |

^ They don't have them at ULTA. The only big major chain I've seen them at is Kmart and Food 4 Less.

Hm, we don't have a KMart close by, otherwise I'd try them. I'm a little iffy about buying things online like that. I've never heard of them before.

i actually heard from people in person that their shadows don't have enough pigment and suck balls. i suppose if you use a primer and pack it on wet, it can't be too bad.
aand i heard that their glosses suck. :Z i still wanna try though. |

You can't keep running from what you're trying to find. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Group: Official Member Posts: 5,030 Joined: Oct 2004 Member No: 54,096 |
I don't think I've heard of that... But I'm really hesitant about really low-priced makeup. It IS something that you put on your face, probably everyday. They must compensate for the cost somehow.

It's made in China...that's how they compensate, I guess, heh.
I don't really like supporting a company that sells dollar makeup by paying their workers next to nothing, but I found that out before I bought it. |

Someone said it in a comment on a review and I can't find it now that I Google it either...but they may have just been blowing their stacks.

I think there is an old topic about E.L.F. because im about 90% sure I heard about it from this forum like a year or two ago. I tried it and wasn't impressed, but since it was only a dollar, I didn't really care. I liked the chapstick I had gotten though because it smelled good.
Edit// There was another topic on this - but from 2004. http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php...=eyes+lips+face But, if anyone wants to get stuff from there, here are some coupon codes I found: Available Eyes Lips Face Cosmetics coupon codes (One coupon per order): $5 Off entire order e.l.f.
