My parents, or my dad i should say, eliminated 2 races for my sister and i. How stupid. I won`t say them, because i think it`s dumb. But i`m all for interracial marriages anyway.

i hate dating within my race. i've think i had enough of the asian culture from being raised by two crazy ass traditional vietnamese parents, and i dont want to have to deal with parent-in-laws that are the same way, and i have to work extra hard to prove my worthyness. also, most of the asian guys i have dated or have tried to like pretty much date-rape me were/are assholes.

my bf is white, but im also down with dating black guys. i dont know about hispanic people. that sounds bad, but i live in Santa Ana, and all the people here are f**king retards - sorry, but it's turned me off of hispanic guys.

This is a topic that I just recently became interested in, because of my recent boyfriend...who is mixed. (Black/white)

Before I met him, I had never thought twice about it. My parents never said anything, so I just assumed that I could date whomever, because love is supposedly put above everything else to them.

But when I asked my mother if I could date him, (I always ask for any boy), she freaked out! She claimed it was just 'not right'. We have 'different views'.

To me, no matter what my parents think, interracial relationships are perfectly fine...as long as the two individuals have the same beliefs. My boyfriend and I have the same religion, same political views, and only differ on the small stuff (the music, animals, colors...xD dumb stuff). Our major opinions and views are the same.

As for the diversity thing, I agree with what someone said earlier about the crayons. (this was so far back...sorry I can't quote it). You have blue and black crayons. Dark blue and light blue had to come from somewhere....and light blue is my favorite color C=

I hate dating Viets, but that doesn't have anything to do with my parents. Viet boys are... boys most of the time even when they're 30. Not everyone of them, of course, but the ones who act their age are always taken.

I dated a filipino. Hot stuff, but he knew it and took a lot of liberties that weren't given to him.

My parents, for example, have the same religious views, and political, but I don`t think it is SO important that they have the same political views. Sure, it would be difficult for a Republican and a Democrat, but to me, it`s only something that shouln`t define a relationship. Imo, it should be something minor and not so explicit.

I agree with that. Political views not so much.....religion, though, is a huge deal. I'm not religious at all...actually bordering on atheist...and I wouldn't want to marry someone who was a devout Christian. Maybe if I was 100% out of my mind in love with him, it would work out, but I wouldn't go to church.

Does anyone here live up North? Is it a lot different up there in the interracial relationship department? I'm from the deep south, and it's not so good here. People are still really harsh when it comes to acceptance. I'll have to start a topic about that some time.

definatly, I think not marrying the one you love because of their race is stupid. Who really cares, we're all people. My parents think that me having sex with a black man is like me having sex with a horse. Its stupid to think like that-we'd get along better without descrimination.

I know my parents want me to have pure-bred Vietnamese kids (even though that's ridiculous because I'm mixed to begin with.) They've tried to arrange marriages for me in the past, and I really was not having it. I don't like dating within my race anymore because most asian guys I've encountered were ridiculously chauvinistic.

I think there's a stigma about birthing biracial children into the world because the world is a really really f**ked up and cruel place. I think most people don't want to put their kids in the line of fire.

Me? I think my blackamese kids will grow up tougher for it. I can't have four pansy ass Vietnamese kids sitting around the house all day.
