I have identified a number of ip addresses on my Myspace tracker, however when I attempt to identify IP addresses that I know belong to my livejournal friends it wont work.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

This may be a stupid question or maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but what do you mean by identifying IPs?

I ask because when I was using the LJ tracker, all of my visits showed up as anonymous no matter what, I don't think that at this time there's any way to actually identify who your visitors are.

I have my comment settings set up to log the I.P. addresses of people who comment on my journal. As I know who these people are in conjuction with their I.P. address I want to "identify" them on my createblg tracker.

You click "identify" and then specify which website [Livejournal, Xanga etc] then you put their username for that site, that way you should get their user icon for that site come up when they hit any of your sites you are tracking.

It works fine for MySpace, I already have a few people assigned to their I.P. adresses there, but whenever I try to do it for Livejournal it says there's an error.

I believe that if another Createblog member identifies a user, then they will show up identified on your tracker. This has already happened to me when an identified Xanga user showed up in my Livejournal tracker.

Does that make sense?

Yeah, I get what you mean. Basically, linking an IP address to an identity doesn't work for the Livejournal tracker.

I don't think you're doing any thing incorrectly, though. Unfortunately, the site webmaster is the only person who has access to the inner workings of the tracker, so I can only hope that when he has a little more time, he'll be able to address some of the issues with the site that we can't do anything about.

Thanks for letting us know, I was unaware of this problem. :3 Since this is related more to the tracker than LJ specifically, I'm going to move this to createblog support in hopes that anyone who has any insight might be able to offer their opinion.

I was trying to add the tracker, I entered my LJ username, and it says it couldn't find it. What should I do? :(

That's ok. I have a lot of my Livejournal friends added to myspace aswell so I can just put them in as myspace users instead for - for now at least.

Thanks for your help _smile.gif

Could you please tell me how to log I.P addresses through comments or how ever? because I have the same problem w/ myspace tracker. All i get is anonymous hits, with only I.P addresses. :(
