I wonder the same. I tired of seeing guys wearing girl pants. I'm not into them though.

And now most of the prettiest girls in my school don't like me because i dress this way. I kind of care but i won't quit dressing the way i do because i really feel like a part of me would be missing if i didnt try and be different.

Well if you know this, why don't you dress according to the norm. and just be unique in personality? This is why I say they are striving for attention, it's all about the shock factor of being dark and depressive and having people look and stair at the kid with the eyeliner and weird black hair over his eyes.

My personality is unique, i couldn't even help that if i tried. I really don't think i'm striving for attention, maybe i am some subliminal way if that makes sense? i don't know just a thought. And i hate when people stare at me more than anything. Besides, i don't have my hair over my eyes it's cut above my eyes, it is black though so it's kinda plain. I want to put blue highlights or something in it, but i don't trust people with my hair, they always do it wrong. And also, i don't wear eyeliner, well i do, but not around other people. I just like wearing it for some reason. That probably sounds pathetic but i don't care.

girls like emo boys because they think they got themselves a man that is sensitive. and thats complete bullshit.

im tired of people putting on a costume
to make themselves look helpless.
to make themselves look misunderstood
and in pain.

get over yourselves. people all over the world are dying. youre nothing but a bead of sweat off the brow of an overworked, underpaid, starving worker.

It's true, i think about myself more than those unfortunate people who are helpless and in trouble. So does the whole world, so who are you to judge one single group of people? Take a good look at yourself. What have you done to help people lately? Anything? I will try hard and if one day i am fortunate enough to be given a chance to help people in need, i will help. Right now i'm only 16 years old, what can i do? But i will give it everything i've got till the day i die and maybe i can make a difference.

ive only been 17 for a month.
and last year my boyfriend and i raised $4500 and walked 60 km for breast cancer.
i buy fair trade.
i volunteer at the salvation army.
ive raised money to send a crew to guatamala to build a school.
i dont litter or waste.
i organize food drives.
ive gotten personallly involved to help my students that are being beaten.
i dont whine about my problems to make myself look damned.

this isnt meant to make me look like a goody goody, or to boast, but merely to prove that it is absolute bullshit that you cant do anything. youre just too lazy and wrapped up in your own problems to get off your ass and make yourself available to do things that help society.

i know that people have problems, im one of them.
but to express your problems with a MAJORLY commercialized fad is shit.

Well, if thats true than good for you, you should keep it up. Your right that i haven't done much yet, there's other things going on my life right now and i have to take care of them, i'm not lazy, i just have to focus on myself right now because i'm in alot of trouble, if i don't get better things could get out of control. i have to help myself before i can help others, but i still care, and when i'm ready i will show that. I don't whine about my problems constantly or anything, but your making it seem like i have none and i'm just complaining about nothing, that feels like an insult, because it's not true, i know life isn't easy for anyone, but mine isn't going very good right now, and that's probably my fault somehow i know. I don't just express myself through the way i dress, i also do it through writing poems, or songs, or just writing freely whatever comes to mind, or by singing. I love music, it's something i can always turn to. I don't look at "emo" as a commercialized fad like you, i don't care how many people are dressing "emo" now. That doesn't matter to me, for me it's still a way to show that i'm different. The first time i heard about "emo", years ago, everyone was making fun of it and we were listening to the "emo song", the one by Adam and Andrew, you know? Well, i was intrigued, i didn't know what it was and it drew me to it somehow, so i went home and looked it up over the internet, and i loved it, i just thought it was awesome, i don't know why, but it was. To be honest, now it's lost a bit of it's flair to me. It doesn't seem as mysterious or wierd to me anymore, now it's just this whole big thing, i don't like that, but i still like "emo", or what it is to me at least.

Girls who like emo...well that depends on their taste.
I think it's just mostly because of their style. I just want the emo label to stop just because someone dresses dark and have dark eyeliners and shit. Or if someone who does self-injuries are not always considered "emo".
Societies these days.
I don't really know what to say to this topic.

Girls like emo boys? You mean we aren't attracted to men with self respect, but love guys who wallow in self-pity? I thought confidence was sexy and attractive. Emo guys lack that, frankly.

I agree, personally I ahte the whole emo fashion, it makes the guys way too feminine. I prefer punk guys with mohawks. tongue.gif

I've only met a few guys who would be branded as 'emo.' They were nice, but I felt that if I said something slightly offensive, they would start to cry.

This is just my experience with "emo boys," anyway.

I find it ironic, that I just looked at who started this topic lol! That person is the definition of emo! Seriously though, I would have to say it is because girls want a sensitive guy deep down inside. Most guys, including myself, are oblivious to the obvious when it comes to girls sometimes.

I think they're cute/hot because of their hair, but I wouldn't necessarily date one just like that.

Couldn`t have said it better.
