i'm soo mad to all the moderators..
they all reject my graphics.. why?
because all of them reject my graphics based on their OWN graphic style...
and give lowsy reasons....
stubborn.gif

PM the mod and ask them to explain. If you want more feedback ask another Mod or post in the showcase booth. Don't automatically assume that your graphics will always be accepted, because just like you said, they might good in your OWN mind, while other's see flaws. Or things you can work on. Try asking for clarification or trying to get better instead of complaining.

Please give examples of those "lowsy" reasons. Also, is it the same reviewer that is repeatedly rejecting your graphics? Because generally speaking, designers have different styles and the design staff members are no different in that aspect.

We would like to help you out, but you will need to elaborate some.

hey, i don't know if it's just me, but the cB staff has been really rude to me and my graphics.
if i get rejected for something, and i ask them what else to do with my graphic and they would literally say that the graphic either looks bad, or "good luck with that".
i put in a lot of work to make my banners look good, and this cB staff is saying my work is ugly, or "doesn't look good anyways"
i just want to say that people have different opinions, but this is a public community and people may not be as good as you are.
so, thank you anyways for your time if you are reading this

I'm sorry to hear that some of the staff has been rude to you. I don't know why any of the staff would say "good luck with that". It would help if you posted examples, like Diana stated. Or even PM another design staff and get a 2nd opinion. _smile.gif Hopefully, after your post, the design staff will stop being so rude when going through the queue.

edit: I strikeouted part, because that was just a misunderstanding.

Saying 'good luck with that' was my reply. - I misread your previous reply to me to read 'yes, i did blend two pictures together, i'll try somewhere else then' rather than 'yes, i did blend two pictures together, i'll try something else then'.

My apologiese.

I agree with Kara, I'm sorry to hear that you've gotten some rude responses. I've made an attempt to be as respectful as possible in all of my replies, and as far as I can tell, no one's gotten offended by it yet.

It would certainly help if you could point out who's said these things - possibly PM a head staff or administrator about it.

edit; After seeing Sarah's response, I don't think she meant it as being rude in any way. Were you referring to other examples besides that?

apology accepted, i'll post some examples:

this is what i said:
QUOTE
the texture made it look like bad quality, but thats how its supposed to look, can i sharpen it and re submit?

and this is sweetasphyxia's reply:
QUOTE
even so its just not a great graphic overall. sorry.

and i know we have different opinions, but you could've just gave me more tips on what to do and i would've accepted them

sometimes there's nothing we can say to you other than "it just looks bad." believe me, if you had our jobs you would find yourself in the same position. i understand your art is important to you and you dont like getting bad feedback, but in that case - why do you have to submit it to cb? that seems like the easiest way to avoid it. you can't expect to have all your graphics accepted just because you took the time to submit it. we do have standards here.

okay, this is in no way to offend you, but
what i am asking is that, i just hate it when people just put me down, so i wish that you could at least say my graphic is "bad" in a different form of words, such as, "i still dont think it looks that well, but keep trying"
and i'll consider not putting my work here =))
but, its just that, this is like my site, if my friends want to see my graphics, i usually give them my createblog link and thats where they see it,
but oh well
again, this is in no offense to you and to the staff, i'm saying it in a general statement

I absolutely understand, but putting down 100+ submissions in 'gentle terms' is...well, damn near impossible. Sometimes criticism needs to be taken with a pinch of salt - most of the mods move very swiftly through the queue to get it all done and out of the way.

However, it should be so that when you reply asking for more detailed tips on improvement that the mod who reviewed your work replies in kind. There are always plenty of design staff with second opinions to give if you're not happy.

ok, thanks for all the help =))
and btw:
what is the process of accepting/rejecting the graphics, layouts, and other things?
and what do you guys look for in a graphic, like what main things do you look for?

maybe sometime in the future, i will apply for a part in the cB staff =))

From the sounds of all your replies, I think you were kind of looking for some more feedback on how to improve your graphics? Maybe how to make them look better in the long run so your graphics will be accepted here _smile.gif I'm sorry for any disrespect or anything you may have felt, I do know the staff tries their hardest to be nice and get things done. The accepting and rejecting process is a very long tedious process, the design staff/head staff/& admins have to look at graphics and then view the full version and if it is good then we have to go through a few pages to accept and if it has to be rejected then we have to write a letter.

if you made that image in your signature, then that's what we don't look for. that's horrible.

Sometimes there's nothing we can tell you on how we think you can improve. Sometimes it's just more of an overall feeling rather than one specific thing about your graphic. In this case, the graphic just did not work for me. It was a combination of the fonts used and the picture you chose that produced an overall low quality graphic. That's not to say that you don't have other great graphics, it just means that this time it just didn't work.

edit://

as for your other comment about this being kind of like your site that you direct people to if they want to see your work:

this is not a portfolio, and i want everyone to understand that. this is a resource forum that offers graphics, layouts, tutorials, and scripts for other people to use. createblog has a lot of competition out there, and that means that while we'd like to be nice and just accept everyones work so we wont hurt anyones feelings... we have to keep some standards.

if you are treating your profile as your portfolio you should probably find another site like deviantart for that purpose.

Continuing with my reply.. sorry I was at the hospital and had to go.

Anyway to see what type of things we do looks for and things we do not I suggest looking at our Moderator's Guide to accepting and rejecting graphics _smile.gif

Because they are going to replace her with someone else before/when she goes.
Though, I'm sure Trish could handle it on her own, because Holly was the only Admin for a bit (after the fall of cB, lol).

BUT I'm pretty sure that is the reason why she is waiting.
