I agree, I don't get how Trish being promoted to Administrator has anything to do with Mike being demoted.

Ok, let's look past the did he didn't he (lie) about anything.

A Design Staff member should know better than to not ask for the original source. I think it's great that he apologized and was vocal instead of hiding. The thing is, we can't have a Design Staff member rejecting layouts due to "jocking" when essentially (intentionally or not) he has done the same thing.

We ask that staff members review DA for possible jocked images. Sometimes this is efficient, sometimes it is not. The point is, Mike is a talented designer that has been doing this for a long time. If he were a rookie and didn't know any better, more leniency might have been extended.

The decision to demod Mike for a minimum of one month was not reached by one person alone. All of upper staff was involved, including the creator of this site himself.

HES BEEN DEMOTED END OF FREAKING STORY. You can have a strike if you wanted to but a good 80 percent of the site feels he deserved the demotion for the time being.

Katie, we get your point. But the thing is that no one is more responsible for what happened than Mike himself. If someone sent him the graphics in a request than he shouldn't have removed watermarks or made remarks like "Oh, that took me forever to make" which insinuated that him, himself made them. He isn't banned from the boards, he can still make posts and do some of the same things he did before he was demodded.

Look guys, I understand I just got promoted to Administrator and Holly has announced that she's stepping down at the end of the month so it may seem like I'm the one calling all the shots. I'm not. There are other people on this staff, and what we do effects the rest of the community. Obviously I try my best to include the other staff members in any of my decisions.

However, I don't mind taking one for the team if I'm such an obvious target.

The layout(s) in question were ALL requests. I am at fault for not checking to see where the images came from, because honestly I have a couple hundred e-mails everyday.

Someone said awhile back that we should just let stuff cool off for awhile, and I think that they're right. All of us arguing isn't doing any good. We can all believe what we want to believe. From talking to Mike, I think he did the best he could to fix it... not that he didn't make a mistake. But let's just leave it at that. The upper staff will figure out the rest.
