i think it's more common now.
all the second borns in my family have eczema and i have a few friends who have it too or someone in their family does.

i've had it since i was born. it was terrible when i was little but i didn't have it too severely. i've kind of grew out of it. but in the fall/winter my skin breaks out. it sucks cause it's really apparent on my face. my body does not have it except my inner elbows and knuckles (which sucks, i can't wear rings, because it would then draw attention to it)

for my face, i literally moisturize constantly in the winter! and i can't wear make up to hide it either since my skin will like flake and appear even more dry. so i just bear it. stubborn.gif

i did use this one prescription ointment, i forgot what it's called but i've stopped for now. it bleached parts of my face and now i have these weird blotches. my doctor just told me to wait the winter out.

i was wondering if anyone else has it here too?
when was it worst for you?
what was it like in your childhood?
what is it like now?
how do you treat unexpected breakouts?
doesn't the winter just suck?
what lotions/creams/prescription ointments do you use?

Eczema f**king sucks. I had it as a kid, fairly badly I think. Now I get it on random occasions, like when I was in marching band, after bending my arms for hours in the heat I'd end up with really bad rashes in my elbows. Most of the time it's just dry itchiness in the winter. I've been on Acutane for the past few months, and since that dries out your skin, it's been bringing out my eczema pretty badly too. Mainly on my elbows still, but I've gotten it in all sorts of odd places lately. Typically I treat it with some steroid ointment I got a prescription for a while back, and I was supposed to get another steroid cream of some sort too, but I didn't bother because it didn't seem worth spending my money on.

I don't have it, but one of my former classmates did. She was really happy when it dried out for good. Hopefully that'll happen to you too.

I have eczema. You're right it does suck, and i had the same problem of it bleaching my skin. What i use is a foam type stuff call Verdeso (very pricy, $200 by perscription) and a lotion called CeraVe (again, pricy, about $13 at Walgreens). They both have worked wonders, and i almost never get it now. And the blotchiness does go away once the eczema itself heals. Talk to your dermatologist. He will help.

I used to get it on my arms when I was little, up until I was like 9 or 10. I don't really know why. And I noticed a couple years back, I think my junior year, I was really stressing out about a lot of stuff, and they started to break out again for a day or two. When I was younger, the doctor told us to try Cortizone cream and it got rid of it. I thought it was stress related, but that doesn't really explain why I had it for so many years at such a young age.

i was wondering if anyone else has it here too? YES
when was it worst for you? Childhood, when I had to take shots b/c it was so bad
what was it like in your childhood? Itchy...
what is it like now? Controlled. I avoid areas that make my skin rash up - dusty areas, over-exposure to sun, etc.
how do you treat unexpected breakouts? I just use this very strong medicine my mom gives me!
doesn't the winter just suck? Not really... I use Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion, which is the most moisturizing lotion I've ever used in my whole life. haha
what lotions/creams/prescription ointments do you use? Gold Bond and Cetaphil :3

Yeah, I get it still. It drives me mad - I have it on the tops of my legs (dumb little patches) and a tiny patch that flares up on my chest and under my eyebrow. I just go to town with E-45 and Oilatum creams.

It's usually triggered when my mom changes her washing powder.

mine are usually triggered by allergic reactions; I use "mometasone furoate cream usp!" it's prescribed though. my breakouts are usually in the inside of my elbows and sometimes a little bit on my neck; they go away pretty fast after i use the cream

Arghhhh mine is coming back right now because it's (occasionally) cold and it dries out my skin. Moisturizer is not working well enough.

i was wondering if anyone else has it here too? Of course
when was it worst for you? I only get it in the winter time. Not fall, exactly when it hits winter December 22/23.
what was it like in your childhood? I just thought of it as normal blisters, not anything serious. It wasn't until this year that noticed the pattern.
what is it like now? This year's really bad. It itches like hell with their stupid red blisters.
how do you treat unexpected breakouts? Use dove stuff, soap/ hand soap/ etc.
doesn't the winter just suck? Yes it is horrible and I want to kill it.
what lotions/creams/prescription ointments do you use? Nothing really. Only when it gets really bad and the skin is red and horrible, then just baby oil. Vaseline doesn't work for me.

Easy, after giving a handjob, you will need the strings from the apron to wipe off the semen off your hands.

...yeah because you can REALLY wipe things off with string. well actually, maybe that works when you shoot loads that are so little that it only takes a bit of string to clean it up.

i have it && i hate it. i had a really severe case when i was younger. i was made fun of constantly for it. there were days i didnt go to school because i was embarassed. i would lie to ppl when they asked me what it was. i used to tell them i got burned or something stupid like that. im 21 now && its not as bad as it used to be, but im still embarassed by it. not as much as before since im sitting here telling you about it, but i dunno.. i dont tell anyone i have it && if anyone asks what it is i just tell them its dry skin, which yeah..its what it is. but i hate to say "i have eczema." it makes me feel like i have a disease, which is the way other ppl made me feel when i was younger too.

my daughter has it on her upper back. we use aveeno with oatmeal. i consulted with a pharmacist and they said that for eczema, it's best to use a cream that has 1% hydrocortisone. as for wearing makeup, i definitely suggest using bare minerals makeup. it costs $60 but it is sooo worth it. i use it myself and it great for concealing blemishes, dark circles around the eyes and it matches great with your skin without the makeup ring. i really hope that helps and good luck!

Aveeno products are a total god-send. When my son was a toddler, he was constantly having skin problems. Those oatmeal baths were amazing.
