Right so in Texas, early 2006 (I think, might have been 05) they enacted this point system for traffic violations etc. A speeding ticket is 2 points. Running a red light/stop sigh is 1 point. DWI is 4 (maybe 6) points. Reckless driving is 4 points. Those #s may be wrong but they're just off the top of my head.

Anyways, at the end of the year if you have 6 points or more they charge you 150$ (or more) per year for the next 3 years.

I don't remember ever hearing about this in the news, the newspaper, the mail, or anywhere for that matter. I got a letter in the mail after I had attained 4 speeding tickets (one dismissed though, so 3 which = 6 points) that this was a rule they have.

Right so now, on top of me paying 800$+ because of speeding tickets, they've decided that's not enough to take from me for hurting no one and breaking nothing aside from a traffic rule. Now I have to toss on an additional 450$.

Whatever, I can deal with that.

OH WAIT THERE'S MORE! They decided to tax the fine they gave me, and since I chose to pay online, they decided to tax it even further!

Oh how I love the government!
