Is that true? I would figure places in California and cities such as Seattle to have a lot of restaurants (we have blocks of Starbucks and McDonald's) and to be the "fattest," then, but they were actually both on the "fittest" list. I never really knew how they got these statistics.

It is. I know a lot of people in Sugar Land are actually thin. There are a lot of thin people in Houston too, just a lot of fatties to go with the thinnies.

You know, I think they mean by fat people like overweight than the average person.

If you guys seen Supersize Me, they mentioned Texas isn't one of the overweight state anymore. Texas ended up being on #2 or #3. The #1 state was somewhere south east, like Pennsylvania or something. Somewhere around there, forgot.

CALIFORNIA FTW. xD

Well, that's something I never knew before. I never took their statistics to heart; I was just curious, but I found out more than I had thought.

But screw it, America is the fatty country.

Well, I mean you may think Cali is the best state, Which its not bad because Ive been there!
But some people may not want all that stuff, Some people may want to live in like an area with nothing but farms and land, And that maybe considered the best to them :]

Today I'm inclined to say Iowa. The vast majority of the time I really wouldn't want to live there, though.

On that note, did you know that Americans are the only nationality that have their own dietary guidelines? Simply, the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Back on topic, I maybe be a little biased because I'm a California native, but I'll just put a word in for California.

Dietary guidelines? I know I could look this up, but I prefer people-speak and not professional-speak. What are the guidelines?

Explaining the guidelines would take forever, they have multiple .PDF files that are uber long. But as an overview, they just explain the importance of nutrition, background information on what you eat, how to read a food label, the food guide pyramid, and they have a separate section which stresses physical activity.

Oh, those. I thought it was something else, strangely.

Try telling that to the South or families who love microwavable, instant food. They fry everything there.

Anyone who says a state other than Texas, California, or New York, are all retarded and need to get out of their shell.

You can't just base that Montana or Colorado are the best states to live in because of they nice nature scenery they have. We are talking overall and efficiency of the state. Which state has more goods that out weighs the bad.

If you think these 5 states are great, please enlighten me with some facts to back up your case, as I have already with California, and Steven with Texas, and others with New York.

People in Iowa are so freakin' nice. It's not natural. Dubuque is really, really pretty. Whenever I go to Iowa I always drive through Dubuque.

You want to know why WI isn't a good state to live in? Besides the fact that there's a lot of country, and not a whole lot to do. And that the city is a really dangerous place to be (some parts of Madison and Milwaukee). Our unemployment rate is around 5%. We have lots of people on welfare. I haven't travelled a whole lot, but most places I've been are better than here. I understand why most people who move away, stay away. If you like the outdoors you might like it here, but usually the crappy weather ruins it.

According to Governor Schwarzenegger, "Galyforkneeya" is the best state.

I'm going to go with Texas.

My fam may be in Philly, but my heart is in Texas. I'll gladly move back to San Antone, or settle down in the ATX.
