That to the left of people's usernames in their post, when the little fella icon is colored it means they're online? And when it's black and white they ain't there? blink.gif
Sad to say I'm often very slow on the uptake of things..

Is there anything really big that you've been slow on? They usually make for a pretty funny story laugh.gif

Actually that is the correct English spelling. The Americanised spelling adds the 'z'.

Damn, this thread doesn't make me feel all that stupid anymore. XD.gif

Just last year, I thought the word "acorns" was pronounced and spelled as "eggcorns"...so I would always say "eggcorns" instead of "acorns" pinch.gif

Hmm, this isn't so much a "DUH" realization, but it's more of a, "What the hell? I've lived in America for most of my life, and I never knew this" that I just found out a few months ago.

A lot of Americans cook their food using microwaves and call it a night. I'm sure they use a pot once in a while, but a majority of them prepare food by pushing a few buttons. So, so sad.

I thought when my folks used to say to mini-Majere "We're having a lie-in tomorrow" that we were having a "lion tomorrow". Sigh. Always disappointed.

I react like that to so many warning labels, road signs and advertisements in today's society. For example, I remember reading a warning label on a baby's stroller and it said, "Remove infant before folding." blink.gif
