The WGA strike is ruining almost every night…everything on tv seems to be a rerun! I hope that there are some good shows coming out in January or else I’m going to have to watch old seasons of Friends all over again.

I think these writers are taking it a bit too far. I understand their frustration, but enough is enough already. I say the people just bring in new writers and keep everything going.

Aren't some shows ending their seasons anyway? I always thought the winter time was a time when there were more re-runs because of that.

I think these writers are taking it a bit too far. I understand their frustration, but enough is enough already. I say the people just bring in new writers and keep everything going. As much as I understand the frustration of not having new episodes of our favorite shows on, I am 100% behind the writers on this. Face it, we wouldn't have ANY tv (other than reality tv) if it weren't for the writers. They deserve a cut of what they are asking for. With the direction media is heading in (online viewing and such), if they do not make waves now and get their fair share, a lot could be lost on their end. Maybe I am being overly sympathetic, but it is just my opinion on the matter. |

I feel for the writers to, but I mean if things really haven't gotten anywhere as of yet, then how fast will they get somewhere?

I feel for the writers to, but I mean if things really haven't gotten anywhere as of yet, then how fast will they get somewhere? That is exactly what networks execs are banking on. It's a waiting game and it totally sucks for the general public. I know that. I've just decided to watch DVD sets (or Netflixing them XD) until the dust settles. |

Why are they messing around? They should pay the writers what they deserve so we can at least try to get back to normal.

I heard that due to the writer strike, Heroes, Lost, and Prison Break MAY be delayed (if the strike continues). Most likely air it at the end of 2008 or next year (2009).
Lost SHOULD be showing their new season in January. Prison Break SHOULD be showing new episodes in early February. Heroes, I'm not sure, most likely mid 2008. Hopefully it will air as planned. FFS, they should just owe the writers of what they deserve then the public will be happy. xD |

I haven't watched tv regularly in almost 2 years. I haven't watched any syndicated programming since April. I feel out of touch with this whole thing. Maybe its best for me.

I actually feel worse for all the people who've pre-paid and booked Broadway tickets way in advance and traveled all the way to the city to find out that their show's been canceled because of the strike. You really don't have it that bad; just go borrow old dvd's from the library... for free.

^ My friend is going to New York next month and she was really worried about that. Thing is, though, is that aren't the scripts the same as they've always been? couldn't Broadway live without the writers for a few shows?

I know the stagehands went on strike back in November but that ended... |

QUOTE I knew all the reruns on tv was a little weird. sad.gif Aww man, do they want a larger pay or something? They want royalties off of DVD box sets and they're upset that channels such as ABC and NBC allow episodes of shows to been seen on their websites while the writers don't get pay. I don't blame the writers for wanting some money. Without the writers there wouldn't be much left to watch on TV. It's because of them shows like Grey's and The Office are such huge hits. Go writers and get your pay! |
