People with education, unless the less educated takes the initiative to teach him/herself the level at which he/she should know.
Edit: I want the guy I'm dating to be financially stable and to climb up the economic ladder, if possible. I do not want to date someone who plans to work at McDonald's for his entire life, because it will not provide a good income. I don't want my relationship to be filled with financial problems because he was too lazy to do anything about it or get a degree to potentially increase his opportunities. Whether or not he has education doesn't matter to me as long as he's not thick as a brick and is well off. |

Way to compete people.
I don't think having a lower end job is all that bad. It really depends on what you want to do in life. Right now, I don't know what I want to do. I know that schooling probably isn't in my future, or at least university level education. I really just either want to make a career out of playing music, or do something in carpentry. But I really don't want an ordinary life. That's my problem. I am pretty much mediocre, but I don't want to be normal. Anyone else feel that way? Like, I really want to make it. And I don't mean, having a good job where I get 100k a year. I want more. Like, I want people to enjoy what I do, and what better place to do that in than music? Is this even a good question? What is better? I mean, no shit some one with a job is going to be all around better. Probably have less stress, so there will be less fighting and what not. But, there are pros and cons for both. It depends on the person I guess. |

Well, how are we really defining education? Is it a high school grad or a college grad? If that is the case then we should take it a step further because we should also take into consideration, whether said person, has an AS, BA, or MD. I think that people who are educated and who achieve success at the highest level, i.e. college, are given the most respect. It shows that they are dedicated people who are driven and who are not lazy. Now don't get me wrong, I know plenty of high school grads who are very driven people and who command and are given a ton of respect, my mother being one of them. Working at a big wall street firm, has taught me that people value the most a person who is going to stay the course and do whatever it takes to succeed. It shows alot that a person can go all the way through school, because school can be very challenging and strenuous sometimes. I personally respect people who know what they want, and who achieve it through hard work and dedication, rather than just taking the easy road out.

both!
everybody can be a mindless jerk having thousands of knowledge does not mean he/she will be the best at heart. it all takes in the heart. & sometimes the less educated person doesnt have the skills or language to tell you how much he/she loves you but somehow it still does. |

Like, I want people to enjoy what I do, and what better place to do that in than music? Yeah! I really don't understand those people who spend so much money and time studying something that they don't even like. Then spend the rest of their life working a job that they hate. What's the point of life if every day 9-5 is going to suck? That kind of lifestyle is not for me. Go get an education and study something you LIKE. So that you won't be cursing your job later. I'm a musician and I know I will end up poor, or at least not very stable economically, but there are more important things than money. |

My friend went for music and he hated it. Seriously, people have asked me what I want to do in life... I told them I don't know. Probably be a musician. They just rolled their eyes. I had one of my best friends tell me that I won't be able to do it. So, I just think of that quote in The Pursuit of Happiness where Will Smith tells his son that he probably wont be a good basketball player. SO, f**k ALL YA'LL HATERS! |

QUOTE People with education is better than people without education haha thats what my asian mom would say Anyway, it doesn't really matter if you have a good education or not. FOR EXAMPLE, you could be the smartest person in your class but you're snobby and have no social skills what-so-ever. Why is this important? BECAUSE when you're going to an interview, you may have the brains, but NO MANNERS OR RESPECT. So why would anybody want to hire you? |

Sometimes it's not what you know, it's who you know. Yet, like the above post, people would rather an average joe who's street smart with clout than a high IQ know-it-all with no status. But imo, I'd rather be surrounded by people with education so I can learn things from them because I know they're always willing to learn. I know you're feeling down but it's always important to better yourself Kay.

I think it depends on the person because there are a lot of intelligent people that don't have a degree.

People with an education, most definately. I mean, sure, there are always people who are smart even without having one. But if you wanted to get somewhere in the corporate world, you would have to be educated.

so do you think that sittin in an office with pretty and clean uniform with people serving you its way better than havin to stand up all day not allow to sit and get dirty clothes and come on with dirty hands? You need to get your head out of the black-and-white thinking. No one is better than anyone else. There will always be someone out there who's "better" than you are either in intelligence, economically, academically, careers, financially, physically, or whatever. It varies from person to person, because one person may enjoy getting down and dirty or another person might enjoy being catered to by his/her employees. Some people may find hard, dirty work to be a pain in the ass, and some people may find being a "business woman" is god damned boring. There is no right answer. |

Like, it's gotten to the point where I don't want to go to school for music. It's just going to make me hate it. School is meant to take the passion out of what you love. And I don't want that. So, I just think of that quote in The Pursuit of Happiness where Will Smith tells his son that he probably wont be a good basketball player. SO, f**k ALL YA'LL HATERS! No, man, not always. I'm in university for music and I'm loving it. If you wanna be a classical musician, you'll find it impossible to do it without a teacher at least. Although I don't think that's what you're aiming for.. As long as you love what you do, it's all that matters. Trust me, when I tell people I do music they give me looks, but once they go to performances of mine, their attitude changes drastically. Most people are idiots by nature =) |
