I like the idea of a side-scrolling myspace profile (as opposed to a normal vertical scrolling page)
It won't be simple, I'm sure, but first things first: QUOTE How do I edit the dimensions of a myspace profile to make it wide instead of long? Granted, I don't know how to add a scrollbar, either. That would be a good start. |

Make your own huge layout with your own graphics so that it scrolls to the side? Just get the measurements down right. Once you have the image to be long enough, the scrollbar will automatically be there. I don't believe there's any way to manipulate the original MySpace layout to be a wide layout. Maybe. I've never seen one like this, though.

Yes, it's quite possible to do this.
As MissHygienic has suggested, you will need to create a very wide profile with a height that doesn't exceed the most common screen resolution - say about 800 - 1000 pixels to be safe. If you find you still have a vertical scrollbar, use this code to remove it and keep the horizontal: CODE overflow-y: hidden; Any and all scrollbar specifications will apply to your horizonal scrollbar. Good luck with this, it's an interesting concept that I wouldn't mind trying out myself! |
