im a vegetarian and have been one for over a year now.
i chose to be a vegetarian because of health reasons; though the peta video did scare me it wasnt what made me want to be a vegetarian. i chose to be one bacause of preservatives and additives such as nitroglycirin that can be found in pretty much all meats, regardless of it being organic or not.
these chemicals are very cancerous...
cancer runs in my family, my grandmother had it, my mother died in 2004 from Breast Cancer, several other immediate family members are battling it or have already succumb to it. these chemicals in meat increase a womans chance of getting breast cancer by 70%

thats a hella risk id like to avoid.

well at least you have a valid reason for not eating meat. unlike the girl who said that she wasn't going to eat meat because meat causes pollution and global warming.

Meat isn't supposed to last a week (in fact, I think it was three days or something) without going bad, and most meat you buy at the supermarket is wack like that!

i never said i wouldnt eat meat because of it.
Hell if you read my post, it said i DO eat meat.
some of the reasons i didnt eat meat were those like deplorables, because my family has a history of cancer also.
other reasons were ethical, and i thought it was wrong.
but now im back onto meat because of health issues.
i eat kosher meat, and the things i get from the local farm across the road.

well maybe you should have said so in the first place instead of saying that you decided not to eat meat in the first place due to the fact that eating meat causes global warming and pollution.

and since you were the one that brought that up. care to explain how eating meat causes global warming and pollution?

i didnt mean that it Causes it, what i meant to say was it contributes to it.
pollution because there are so many cows and animals around, and they get killed, then the babies reproduce and get killed, etc etc.

and global warming because pollution contributes to global warming aswell.

That is not pollution. And something has to be a cause of something if it's to contribute to it.

i lol'ed.
i'm lacto-ovo-pescetarian.

i'd have to say probably one of the biggest reasons that i stopped eating meat was just because i didn't like it anymore... i didn't like the texture or the way it tasted, and it eventually just grossed me out. i don't really like seafood either, but i'm not going to bother with pills and shit to get my nutrients; i'm horrible with pills.

i don't really try to urge people to take on a similar lifestyle via peta-style gory videos, though i do encourage people to try it just so they can get an idea of what it's like. it can't hurt, right? shrug.gif

i really could give less of a shit about who's vegetarian and who's not. all i know is that i'll never be vegetarian.

Agreed.
I understand where people are coming from when they become a vegetarian, but I really don't know how I could do that to myself. It's a part of life.

Its okay guys, if you're not vegetarian. Really, its your own choice, not ours.
I became a vegetarian because I don't like the taste at all! (Similar to what Ruth said) My parents were vegetarian before I was born, so that can explain why. Plus, my mom doesn't really serve meat at home. All the "adults" say that I have to eat meat because I'm a growing human, and that I should stop caring about animals...but the truth is, I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE ANIMALS I JUST DON'T LIKE THE FREAKING TASTE!
Thank you. _smile.gif

I think vegetarianism is cool same with veganism. I think its a great way to stay in shape and care for the earth. I don't know ifI'll ever do it, I'm still trying to make a descision and figure out if I really wanna do it or not cuz I love eating meat and everything but it rly sux when animals are practically tortured for my tastebuds.

I find veganism really pointless, not going to lie.

Unless you're doing it for health reasons. It's definitely pointless. don't try to save the fuckin animals.

^Do you not realize that veganism is more than not eating meat? It's also not eating dairy products, eggs, honey, etc., so to say that "eating veggies and all them dairy products is good for you [sic]," you're completely missing the point.

I'm all for ending animal cruelty. I don't eat very much meat as it is. But I'm sure as hell not going to give up my egg and dairy products, just because some practices are inhumane. My vastly limiting my own diet is not going to help a damn thing; I get that often times people do it on principle, but frankly I don't like vegetables enough. And where honey is concerned, what other good do bees serve? I have a friend who's trying to become a vegan, and it did not take very long to have him eating honey out of the bottle and shouting "f**k the bees!" with us. I just find it silly, and it's very very hard to have a balanced diet that way. I'm totally cool with vegans, because what other people eat or don't eat doesn't really concern me, but it's kind of a delusion.

I dont cur if its not about just meat. If it's not moving or got 2 legs i dun cur. Giving up on animal cruelty..? Like i said, there's billing of ppl on this planet are carnivorous, good luck trying to convince them to quit dumbass. I pretty much handle everything there is to ask but guess you wanted me to repeat myself.

Who gives a shiet if your friend is becoming a vegan, fuk that. Eventually your buddy gonna fuking feel weak as shiet. Once again look up the population of the world. You vegans people ain't gonna do shiet. Just do whatever make you feel healthy. All veggues and dairy products will not do you good.

she isn't converting you, calm down
