I have no idea where to put this but im sure a lot of people have gotten it, sadly.

I had a program I downloaded that detected programs that were messing up but now I have it again but forgot what the program was called. Googling it isn't getting my anywhere.

Anyone know what program to use to remove blue screen of death problems without wiping out the computer?

So when you restarted, it still goes to the blue screen of death?

No, I haven't found any. I just remember my boyfriend having two partitions on his computer, where he booted windows on windows 2000 (instead of xp) and we saved as much as we could, then reformated.

i used to get this on my old computer. it happened once, then a few months later again, then it just started happening more often. i've never heard of a program to fix it though, everywhere i asked i was told that i would eventually have to reformat. i was paranoid as hell that i was gonna randomly lose everything on my computer =/

What program were you using?
Did you install any new hardware?
What was the error code?

(example: 0000000x50?)

i have no idea what specific program i was using. it normally happens when i'm on firefox going through the internet and sometimes not.

i'm too late if i want to check what programs are running. but i guess i should read what the blue screen says then?

You can check the error through control panel, but the easiest way is just write it down after you get BSOD'ed. If it happens again, tell me what the screen says, and I'll give you instructions on how to keep it from happening.
