umm pretty sure hate threads aren't allowed.
anyways, i was turned off by him in the film snob thread since that was the only thread i ever crossed paths with him. UNTIL i saw him in more forums i didn't dislike him anymore. at the beginning i thought he was a british girl to be honest but no, i don't hate him or dislike him. |

I've no probs with Nate. Everyone gets a kick out of being able to denounce someone's views in debate. If someone says they don't, I will not believe them (sorry). Nate just seems more honest and overt about it. Now, if his research/stats were wrong and he keeps on BSing, that's a problem. But since I've been here, I haven't seen that yet.
Oh, one thing that does bother me is that his posts can be long. I want to read his posts as they can be so interesting at times, but I'm too lazy. Damn it, man, paraphrase for us lazies. As for his personal life, who gives a shit unless he's David Bowie. |

Now, I'm certainly not going to say ol' Nathaniel here doesn't have his flaws. Ask around, I know them better than anyone, and he knows that. But until you actually know what those are (and you have to know him for some amount of time more than a couple months to do so), there's not too much to dislike. In fact, most people fall madly in love with him when they first meet him (boys and girls alike). The things he says in Debate aren't incorrect so there's no reason for him not to say them...he's correcting others. Maybe they'll learn more if they take their heads out of their asses and listen to facts and intelligent dialogue rather than accepting whatever Mommy and Daddy say. Perhaps you would be a little irked by the Film Snobs thread, but if you knew anything about the kid, you would know that his behavior in that thread is quite common, and you wouldn't even blink an eye to it. But hate him over it? No. Wait till you actually have some sort of social relationship with him.
I'm also failing to see what his job has to do with anything. If you're going to say anything about it, praise him for it. I, myself, am quite proud of him for working. It's a step in the right direction. |
