Do you think it's ridiculous for them to put a warning before the episode starts? the fact that the cookie monster has
-a bad diet

-"Snuffleupagus is visible only to Big Bird; since 1985, he was not hallucinating came to seem a little creepy, not to mention somewhat strained."

-"Alistair Cookie, played by Cookie Monster, used to appear with a pipe, which he later gobbled. According to Parente, “That modeled the wrong behavior” — smoking, eating pipes —"

-oscar the grouch was too sarcastic and rude

-little girl goes into a house of a stranger to be given cookies and then walks into the sunset hand in hand

the little girl scene i can understand and big bird with Snuffleupagus could be an imaginationary friend but seeing how it was back in the 70's i'm sure it was referenced to drugs.

This is just getting to be way too stupid. Whatever crackheads get these ideas, really need to be hearded up and put on an island. (Yes, I'm the calling the morons who find Sesame Street to be for adults only, a bunch of crackheads. That's the only explaination I can come up with for why they find puppets to be a bad influence on kids.) Oscar The Grouch was one of my top favorites. When I was a kid, I never thought that Oscar was a grouch because he had never been treated for depression by being put on medication or being put in therapy. I never thought that Cookie Monster was teaching me to eat too many cookies until I'm far too fat to move. I also never thought Bert and Ernie were gay just because they lived together and nor did I question what condition the apartment they that lived in was. Kids don't think about this shit. So these people really need to just stop. What will they say next? That Big Bird is the number one cause of the bird flu? They seem to want to take away the innocence that is left in kids, which is bullshit. Let them grow up the way a child should grow up. They don't need their minds being polluted about how Bert and Ernie are gay because they live together, or that Cookie Monster is trying to get them to become over weight, or even that Oscar The Grouch needs to be treated for depression. Jesus Christ, this world is turning to shit.

I heard they took cookie monster out of the series and replaced it with Vegetable monster or something. mad.gif THEN, they have taken it TOO far. I mean, Tom in Tom & Jerry smokes cigs and they let that show run!

Sorry, but no one wants to see the cookie monster with celery. It's a television show. It's not going to give kids bad cholesterol and diabetes... the parents who plop the kid in front of the television for hours and lets their kid eat whatever they want probably will.

Yeah, agreed. It's just a show, a kids show, it's not like the children are going to get up and start eating pipes. Seriously people overreact a bit too much these days.
