there are about 20 (extremely rough guess) pixels of blank space between the top of the scrollbox-for my comments-and the first comment. I think it's there because of the removal of my friends space and everything in the comments except the name of the user who posted it, the comment itself, and the add comment button at the bottom. it's interfering with part of my image map, and when I repeat that part in a new div, I can't move it to the right spot because the top blank part of the scrollbox is in the way (yes, i'm using z-index). to make it a little more clear, I hid the scrollbar, using overflow:hidden, instead of auto, and lined up the contents (not the entire scrollbox itself) with my main DIV.

when i look at your myspace, i can see the div just isnt aligned with the box you've drawn in your layout. but i dont see that it's interfering with any imagemaps... actually i dont see any of the problems you've stated in your first post...

can you be a little more clear?

I've just had a play around with your code on my test site - try reducing the height of your comments DIV by about 20/30 pixels (and you'll also need to alter it's positioning too) and see if that helps.

also, notice above the comments, there is "comment"-it's not "comments". "comment" is going to be a link that lets you comment me. that's the part that wont work.

that doesn't do anything but make the actual box smaller, obviously-the blank spot is still there. i want the comments to fill that entire box drawn on the layout, not just part of it so it looks like crap, or else i'd just move the box down so it's not in the way of the link and not even worry about the blank spot.

i thought i said this in my original post, but i might have deleted it when i edited:
the actually scrollbars are not going to be there, since i'm using overflow:hidden, instead of auto-i temporarily changed it so you could see the blank space. :]

well first of all one of the commenters in your comments has a long name that is stretching it out a teensy bit, so i think the box you've drawn is a little small for your comments.

you also need to play with the padding...

try

padding:-20px 0 0 -10px;
