Beowulf appropriate for little brother? |

Me being a responsible movie collector/maker wanted to go see beowulf. critics have rating and since I missedout on 300 in theatres I decided to jump on this bandwagon. So Im 13, 300, and movies like that have changed me into a gore lover. so nothing will bother me but my 10 year old brother wants to see it *roll eyes in disgust* so he has to come. My mom wants to know if its appropriate so I decided to come here....any help?

Well it is Rated R, it will probably be something like 300.

Gore is fairly minimal. Theres some semi nude scenes (ie, seeing Ray Winstone's butt, Angelina Jolie's breasts save for some gold paint) granted its all CGI but yeah.
The only gorey part was an arm getting ripped off. With that said, it can get scary, with Grendel screaming and tearing people apart and all. |

BEOWULF = A WASTE OF 2 HOURS! Read the story first...you'll see how much different it is.
And Angelia Jolie is naked. So is the guy who plays Beowulf...he starts stripping and takes off all his clothes when he fights Grendel naked. |

Yeah, the only thing I've heard so far is Angelina Jolie is naked in it. If it's not simular to the actual writing than you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Have you read Beowulf?

I thought it's rated R due to critical violence and such. I guess not. Haha. |

I saw it today in IMAX 3D, it was an okay movie. I don't recommend letting little children see it, there are parts that can get graphic and intense. But if he has seen 300 then for the "gore" part, its all CGI and its not as realistic as 300 made it look. At times you can tell the movie is computer animated partially, and it does take away from the effect.
As someone mentioned above there is several scenes where nudity is implied. His entire Grendal fight is done in the nude, but frontal nudity was always blocked by something, and Grendal's Mother (angelina jolie) does make several appearances where nudity is also implied, but once again covered with gold paint. Anyone who is a fan of the Epic Poem will hate this movie...as its completely inaccurate. Other then that it did make for an entertaining IMAX experience. |

Technically, since it's rated R, you can't see it either without an accomplice aged 17+.
Sorry dude. Edit: Apparently its PG-13, though, according to some of my friends, it should be R. Today is not my day for posting.

 idk, I'd say definately don't take him... only because I'm a chicken and I think it looks scary :P |

I saw it today, and if you're brother saw 300, than he can see Beowolf because it isn't that gory as 300. However, there is Angelina Jolie in the movie nude but she is painted gold. She is so hott and gorgeous!
I thought the movie was okay to a sucky movie. =/ I really didn't like how the film was like CGI. =X The story plot is weird too. |

Ok Im pretty sure that no one said his little bro saw 300. He said HE did, and it turned him into a gore lover.
As for Beowulf deserving an R rating, I don't see why. There was no real nudity save for the rear shot of Beowulf, there was implied nudity with Angelina Jolie but she WAS covered, and there was little gore. |

I saw it in 3D yesterday and me and my fiance got into it in the theater over that its the same shit as 300 except more nakedness and fighting naked.
He even talked like it was 300 |
