What to do, My friend smokes pot Options

Ok so on the 27th [oct] I was out with my friend Julia. [myspace tour, best night ever] And on the car ride to Robert Morris Julia nad I were catching up, doing a little gossip and such. When I found out my 2 besties were freaking pot heads. On I don't regularly talk to but the other I'm very close with. I wasn't all that suprised when I found out. But I ended up telling her that we couldn't be friend anymore [along with some other reasons why.] I just feel like the worst person in the world. I feel like I've abandoned her in some weird way, like I should be there 4 her. But I rly don't know what to do.
It bothers me alot.

Um. I want to say good for you, and if I knew the other reasons I'm sure I would, but smoking weed is not that bad. If you don't like it and she was pressuring you to do it, then you did nothing wrong. But, just because she smokes weed your going to ditch her? If one of your friends wears a shirt you don't like will you beat them up? Since you didn't even know I am sure it wasn't ruining her life.
I smoke weed and that doesn't make me a bad person.

I'm not really sure why you couldn't hang out/be friends anymore, that was odd of you. Who knows, maybe you want to avoid the peer pressure circle or some other reasons. If i was in your position, i'd still hang out with them and don't really care, as long as they don't act up like get angry or paranoid randomly then it's all good. I have many friends who are pot heads, they're the same before they didn't smoke. Big deal. But if you want to avoid peer pressure, and such, that's a good thing for your age i suppose.

I don't think it's worth ending a good friendship over the fact that your best friend smokes weed. You might not agree with it, but that doesn't change the fact that you get along well enough to be best friends. And since she's never done it in front of you, you can ask her to make sure she never does in the future if you're uncomfortable with it.

if u end a friendship over weed then ur a sucky friend to begin with, in my opinion anyway. smoking weed isn't the end of the world.

yea i think you can still be friends with her as long as she's not pressuring you to do it. i mean ppl make mistakes ppl do bad things. but you don't hate them you hate what they do. maybe she needs you more now and maybe you can help her out of it.

I mean i dont hate her, shes my bestie but I don't know if I wana hang out with someone whos gonna blow me off to go smoke weed with someone she barely knows. And then when I get mad at her for that she acts like she can't help that shes busy. like wtf, youre not busy, youre smoking weed.

I don't understand why they cant still be your friends if their smoking isn't effecting you ... i mean you didn't even know they were pot heads before... If they were your good friends you'd still be their friends until it effected you... there must be another reason you are not friends with them anymore..

I don't think my parents would mind if I hang out with her. They know me and trust me. If I got caught they would probably try to listen to me first [maybe my mom not my dad]. The thing is I'm just rly pissed that she decided to be just like everybody else at her school. I thought she was better than that.

Sounds like you want to hang out just like the old days, but now she seems to make new friends which are pot heads, and not enough time for you. Go and make new friends and stop relying so much on just one best friend. There's no rules out there saying you can only have one best friend.

Do what you feel is best for you. If you're not comfortable being around someone who smokes weed, go somewhere else. It's your choice. Who knows, maybe you're scared of being influenced?
