CB staff is going to take the 25th. _smile.gif

Side note, individual staff members can also do other submissions, and people can be in more than one group.

Hmm... maybe the staff should have some back-ups just in case there are no submissions for certain dates.

Michelle - Yeah, Holly thought of the idea for it to be hosted on a CB profile. I think that'll be pretty cool. Also, the design of the main calendar layout is going to be a contest. :)

That's an extremely half-assed version of how I pictured the main calendar page to look.

As far as specific entries it could seriously just be a graphic image that's holiday-related with a little message from you to the community wishing them happy holidays.

edit; Sorry, I can say it's half-assed because I did it before running out the door to go to class. xD

Okay you guys don't make fun but it was December 1st and I was excited (I think this was like 2005) so I posted this at another forum. It was just something goofy to get people excited about the holidays, but something like this could work as an entry (thumbed):

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/Libertie/dec1.jpg

If it is just a picture, the new page would hold only the picture, but people are given liberties as far as writing their own code for the entry, etc, if they want.

That kinda scared me.
Reason for edit: image tags.

I've brought this up with the rest of the staff, but let me ask what you guys think.

What if we have several small contests community-wide, and each day on the calendar displays an entry (or a few entries, depending on how many we get). Then on the 25th, that day will display the list of winners for each contest. I thought maybe if we did it that way, we'd end up with more people participating, and of course one person can join multiple contests. We could do photography, layout-making, image editing, etc. Of course the entry would have to have a holiday-related theme.

Would you rather us do that, or have it the way I originally thought of?

I hate the idea of a due date for something I have to do. T_T

Maybe we can just have people send holiday contributions or just a video/audio shoutout or whatever it is without choosing a due date so each day is a surprise. And I think the groups may be a little much because it'll slow things down unless you know the person/people in real life.

^Yeah, I agree about the groups.

It all depends on how many people end up being interested, and we need to get this going NOW if we're going to do it.

The idea about people recording a video/audio shoutout is good, because if someone doesn't really have any "talents" per se, they can still record something to sent in. You wanna just say "send in your submission by November 25th to be included!" or something like that?
