So, I decided that my current portfolio design (http://parfume.cbstaff.com) needs a professional update.

I scrapped the concept that was up here before... it was stupid _smile.gif So, now I have a new one - inspired by Roxanne.

Update - LIVE PORTFOLIO FINISHED! CLICK!!!

Progress #2... (and yes I see the "ot" spelling error)

(larger content area... trying to figure out how I'm going to map out my space)

I'm open to suggestions and critiques _smile.gif In fact, I want them. I'm going to add more details in the white area, but I'd love suggestions on what to do with the background. I'm thinking a pattern, but eh, what do you think?

The pentool strokes could be better. But wait, you have PSP, right? So it isn't a pentool is it?
Ahh, well it doesn't matter, you know what I mean.
To the far left, a little bit of the tan/white color poked out, and to the right of the word "artist" & under the thought bubble, a part of the red stroke is jagged.

Other than that, it looks pretty nice. I'm not so sure if I like the background color, or the thought bubble.
But I still like it. _smile.gif Those are just my thoughts on it.

i dont know if this is a huge improvement, if you were looking for a less "juvenile" approach.

i think a lot more white space is needed if you are going to use a lot of primary colors. it'll just open it up a lot more.

that specific blue kind of goes against the yellow. 'cause it's such a cool yellow, and that's such a warm blue. i like the red with the yellow though. i durno, i guess i just don't like the blue ;x.

UPDATE:
I've scrapped that design... completely. Roxanne's portfolio inspired me, so check out the updated concept design.

hmm, it's an improvement from the last one, but i still think something is wrong here. i think you tend to constrict your content into small spaces, whereas web design today is all about utilizing space and minimalism. if you are marketting yourself to potential clients - they want to be up to date with the latest trends - and therefore you need to be a step even above that.

^ I made the content space larger. At least, this is what I have planned so far for the home page. The space will be larger/smaller depending on the info you are looking at.

I like it _smile.gif
Very bold & colorful yet definitely not overdone.
Definitely a professional looking page that would catch my eye while surfing the web.

Like I told you backstage, I really like it _smile.gif Its cute, and I love it a lot more than your past one. I like the background just being white, but thats just me. Maybe something light back there or a light pattern would be nice as well. I would have to see it though.

Thanks Mike, Melissa, & Holly!!
I'm searching for the right pattern... I've tried a few for the background but nothing floats my boat so far if I decide to go that route.

Update
Coding is completely done on all aspects of the site. But I'm having errors with the form code's (contact page) height + vertical scrollbar in Firefox - IE displays it fine but I can't get FF to do the same.

i dont like the middle right part with the illustration and "the digital web artist; unraveling the world of design"
it makes no sense to me. it seems like you have two headlines, like you couldnt decide between the two. use that space more wisely - maybe expand the "updates" section all the way across, or put "get a quote" or something.

Eh, I'll figure something out.
