I would have to say it's more of an art than just a sport.

Even in Brazil, they honor break dancing as an art form.

I have the utmost respect for breakdancers. If I tried to breakdance I'd end up in a wheelchair.

Used to. I wasn't really dedicated to it, so now what little skill I had pretty much died completely mellow.gif It takes so much work to really get good at it, and I couldn't handle it. I love watching people breakdance though happy.gif

oh..wowies..there were breakers in here than i thought...
yes..its a hard dance to be committed to..
i think of it as art and sport...
it can have such graceful movement to it, yet have agressive feelings also...
but I love it...

Bboying is fun, depending on who you do it with. I'll say that yeah, if I ever did it alone, I'd probably not continue with it, but I have friends that do it with me so that it doesn't get as boring. I love bboying, it will stay with me forever. Honestly though, breaking isn't as hard as people make it seem, it's just the powermoves that most people know about, which is pretty hard.

Definitely an Art form. I respect Brazilians the most, who combine Capoeira & Breakdancing.

yes, they say battling gives u more experience...
but im kinda afraid to battle, like i dont know what i'd do
if i lost to a battle, like, "will it make wanna just give up
breakdancing if i lose?" or "am i never gonna battle again?"
really complicated...

When it comes to battling. Battling is considered a sport, at least from the Brazilian heritage (I have a lot of Brazilian friends who breakdance for a hobby)

You gotta think of a battle, like a strategic ball game. Analyze their moves, copy them (show them you can hang), and add a lil more flavor to your moves (show originality) + add ons (to take the win).

You should NEVER quit a passion, a hobby, a goal, etc... keep going over it until you can't no more... but never give it up just because someone out there was better than you. No matter what, everyone's better than everyone in some way or another.
