Am I the only one who loathes them? To me they just look GAY! I like my jeans to have a little bit of flare to them. Sorry, no offense to people who love them. They just bug me.

Straight leg jeans are the most universally flattering cut, generally they look good on bigger people and shorter people. When I look around at my friends, they look the best in straight legs as well.

I hate flares on people with a bigger frame, or people who are shorter. The belled out leg can make your knees look smaller, which in turn can make your hips look huge. Not a great look.

I don't really notice a different between straight leg and boot cut. I have chubby legs, so bootcut jeans look horrible on me. I like my pants with a little flare (deffinately not a fan of those wide leg jeans)... plus they look the best with sneakers. Straight leg would probably just bunch up and end up looking like boot cut anyways.

I'm short and have chicken legs. I've tried to wear straight leg jeans, but they look bad on me. Even the low rise ones. However, I have never noticed flares to make my knees look more little than they are. In fact I think they make my legs look better. I think it depends on how big the flares are. I remember when really huge flares were popular. I didn't care for those.

Gigi is right, straight leg jeans look better on shorter and bigger people. Flare looks good on certain tall people. It really depends on what you're wearing with it too.

I personally love straight leg jeans. I think they are the best cut for me. I'm 5'3 and 105 lbs and fit into sz 24 jeans so I wouldn't consider myself 'big' by any means... but they are still way more flattering on me than bootcuts.

I agree with those who said they do like them on some other people but I wouldn't ever wear em'. They don't look good on me o_O I don't think anyway. I like a bit a flare to my jeans. I feel like my ankles are being suffocated if not o_O

I hate flares on me. pinch.gif its probably because I have a smaller frame and it just like drags on the floor. I think flares are better suited for the tall and the slim. Straight legs and skinny jeans, I love them. If only I had more of them. (A little height to me wouldn't be too bad either.)

You know, as much as I thought I didn't like straight leg jeans, some of them actually look pretty decent on me. Not skinny jeans so much, because they just make my thighs look huge, but flares have gotten old and boot leg have always just been awkward.

i used to love flares. now i like the occasional flare, but I have become a skinnies girl. Once you go skinny, you can't go back.

^lol.

I went through this phase where I would only wear flared jeans, but it's true that it's not always the best look, especially the ones that start flaring at the knee and just get infinitely bigger.

I prefer jeans that fit closer to the leg. They're more comfortable, they don't drag, and they make me look less like I gained a size in pants in the last year.

I think it depends on what kind of top and shoes you are wearing with them. I guess I like them, if worn properly.

because straight leg jeans are so much more flattering then flares or skinny jeans. especially if you are self-conscious about your legs. then straight leg jeans is the way to go. once in a while i'll throw on a pair of rock and republic bootcut jeans but other then that pretty much i only wear skinny jeans and straight leg jeans.
