Anyone planning on seeing this? Think it'll be good? Bad?

http://imdb.com/title/tt0389722/

I really should go to the movies more, seeing as they're only $4 here. I havent been in months.

never been a big fan of Vampire movies.
I think the only one I've ever liked is Lost Boys.

If I do see this, I won't be going into it with much to look forward to.

My friend said the following and I agree:

" I really love horror flicks, especially vampire movies! But it's sorta hard for me to get into 30 Days of Night. "

I went and saw this movie last night...and I must say the ending was horrible...

I don't normally judge a movie, based on the directors poor decisions...but this time it was so bad it effected the overall movie.

Movie vampires are disgraces. They try to look scary by acting like barbarians but really, they're not all that freaky. I mean, they bite you [puncture 2 holes into your carotid artery] and drink the blood that slips outside. How scary is that? A frikken human can do it! Vampires are better off wearing sexy european clothing, being all polite and shy and stuff like that. They don't belong in horror movies.

In Mr. Slade's defense; that's how the graphic novel ended too. It just, really, was never a convincing sacrifice - kind of takes you our of the Anne Frank frame up. I thought the movie was pretty decent, as goes modern horror. The gore was very surprising and quite enjoyable. I like to see little kids eat it (in more ways than one). I like snow. I like winter clothes. But, really, some of the character motivation was so alien to me and without any serious development at all, who could care? Some hit, some miss, altogether: not a terrible edition to a sinking modern horror.

Ahh forgive my ignorance, I didn't realize it was Graphic Novel adaptation. Which makes sense, because of the style the movie took on. Nothing like 300, but still it had a sense of "page flipping" direction. I thought the movie was decent, but because of that ending..it was just like...what were they going with. So I guess the blame isn't in the movie's direction, but in Steve Nile's poor decision for a mediocre ending.
