So at my school, there are 3 levels of dance classes. It's modern dance mostly.

-A semester course, named (Dance)
-2 year course, IBHL y1 Dance
-2 year course, IBHL y2 Dance

Obviously, you take y1 before y2. I skipped the semester course and am currently in y1, and I've only danced for maybe 4-5 months. The people I'm competing against are y2 students, who some have taken private classes before even high school.

Thus, me, with 3 months (Modern Dance) experience, vs people with maybe 3-4 years experience.

The one advantage that I DO have is that, well, I'm one of the only 4 guys. (There are 3 other guys too in my y1 class, but they suck so I don't worry bout them). The girls are running around doing splits and stuff in mid-air, while guys are flipping around.

I have some prior breakdancing experience, so I don't have problems with flipping around and doing splits, but dancing is so much more than that. I just don't have the experience, so do you guys have any tips for modern dance auditions?

I have maybe 3-4 more months of breakdancing experience, so I'm not worried about being out of shape, it's just I'm relatively new to modern dance compared to these other people, and not sure what judges look for, etc.
