So...
in my Art 1 class (they dropped advanced art), the first thing we did, before we even went over rules and such was that we had to write down things about ourselves involving art...such as...
strengths, weaknesses, favorite medium, quick/slow and patient/anxious worker, i dont care/perfectionist attitude, whether we like simple, complicated, or a mixture of projects, what area we'd like to stay in, one project we HAVE to do...and that's basically all I can think of right now.
ANYWAYS.
the whole point is to compare our first thoughts (what we wrote down) to our thoughts at the end of the school year...
this is what I wrote...
strengths-shading, color scales, transitioning, paint
weaknesses-watercolor, free sketching (i have to have an object or picture)
favorite medium-...not sure.
quick/slow and patient/anxious worker-slow, both...
attitude-definitely perfectionist.
level-start simple
area-big comfort zone. anime to realistic.
project-color scale drawings.

so, have you had to do anything like this? did your thoughts change or stay the same? were you shocked from something that changed? even if you didn't have to do this, go ahead and share your strengths and such. :]

we did this in the begining of the year for AP Studio too.
here's mine

strengths: color pencils, shading, realism, graphite, watercolor, acrylic, free-style

weaknesses: pastels (both oil and dry), making things simple >_>

favorite medium: color pencils (i have a 132 prisma set, a 72 one, and a 24 one) that's how obsessive i am with color pencils XD
im a quick yet detailed and patient worker.

attitude: DEFINITELY a perfectionist, it kills sometime, especially in acrylic painting

level: complicated, and very detailed and very realistic.

area: i hate drawing anime. i can make things look soo real in a canvas or paper, but i cannot make it look anime. and alot of anime concentration get a 3 in the AP exam, they're tired of anime stuff (the college board)

project: EXTREME pen and ink detailed piece, i promised myself i WILL do one this year. and i shall!
