Hi,

I'm experiencing an interesting thing happen when I attempt to identify an initial anonymous IP on the CB MySpace Tracker.

As of this morning, any time I input either the member ID or their URL name, instead of having their current default image appear, I get a tiny black square with a dot in the center of it. When I click back to the actual Tracker log, the now "identified" hit shows up with a completely black square where their default image should appear instead. This has happened multiple times this morning - not a one person I've identified out of 5 had their default picture appear... only a black square.

I thought maybe it was an issue with my home computer but I'm at work now and am experiencing the same thing. I thought maybe it was a MySpace issue - that maybe, after the first time, it might have had something to do with the person having their settings on "no picture forwarding." But when it's been 5 in a row and with people I know and have previously identified without problems but are now being tracked at a different IP address... hmmm... this leads me to conclude it may actually be a CB issue. I had this happen once before a few weeks back - but it only happened with one attempt to identify. Yes, the person's name shows up - just no image.

Does anyone have any answers to this one?

Is there something I may have done to cause this to happen on my end? (Note - I've not touched my CB settings in quite some time).

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Staff? Is this something you are already aware of?

Thanks!
Renée

I also get this. I either get no image or a black box instead of the persons current default picture. Any way this can be resolved?

Just FYI...

I've since written about this in the Moderator Performance forum here in Feedback hoping that a Moderator might take notice... but no luck. I've also written directly to Micron after scouring the forums for some kind of hint of what's up with this or if anyone else was having this issue. I ran across something along similar lines and the Mod suggested writing directly to Micron (who designed the CB Tracker, I believe). So far... nothing yet. Fingers are crossed...

I don't mess around with the tracker but I mean in the past has it shown the actual defualt picture of each person? From me understanding there isn't allowed to be a tracker that gives you the exact person. IP addresses are fine but actual links and such are against the TOS unless they revised them.

You are right - it is against the TOS - yet there are many trackers out there all the same and some of them actually do identify not only the default picture but the IP, the time, date, city, state and actual page that the person got to your page from. Right now, many of them are closed to new members.

The CB Tracker only gives you the IP, time, date, city and state and it's up to you to identify them yourself based on timestamps on your mail, comments and add requests. Once you do identify them - yes, their picture does come up - and always has since CB Tracker V.2 was implemented last July.

Now, all of a sudden, any new ID's that you try to identify come up with a black square where their default picture should be - yet the person's name shows up all the same. All the previously identified IPs before this glitch started happening do still show up with their picture's intact though. Weird.

Well since your persisted to take your problem to moderator performance I suppose we can continue it in here:

We don't know anything about the tracker, cB staff DOES NOT run it or created it Jusun *Creator of createblog* made it.

PM him, if he doesn't reply well I guess your S.O.L. because well we usually don't ever see him most of the time.

Wait a while, maybe it will magically start working the right way..if not well wait it out.

I don't think your myspace life is going to crash not knowing who is going and looking at your profile.

It sucks. I used it to look at private profile's full size of their display picture.

You can just do that by editing the photo URL directly....

Actually, there's a way to see all the photos from a private profile, if they have the photos set to public. lol

Right click on the smaller version of the photo, get the URL, and copy and paste it into a new window.

The URL will look like this:
http://a303.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/61/s_21e9f88a071d2327651715024fbbc2a6.jpg

just change the bolded letter "s" or "m" to an "l"

OMG I didn't know that! THANK YOU, haha.

I thought the links for the small and large pics weren't related to one another.
