So I'm from Reno, NV and Thursday ICE came and invaded all of the McDonald's here and deported like all these people back to Mexico. And it made me really mad because you know I'm white and i was born in California and all these people were posting all these comments up on the news channel website saying stuff like "finally! they get all these Mexicans out of our country and [blah blah blah]" and it makes us all look bad. This country was founded by people coming from other countries. that's what the USA is. I understand it's better to do it the legal way but why deport them? They aren't hurting anyone. They aren't blowing up schools or attacking our government buildings. they're just trying to work and feed their families.
it's just so frustrating to me. WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG? It's just sad...you know? |

I think that's why they need to revise the immigration laws. The thing is, this kind of thing isn't new or anything. I mean, stuff like this happened back when people came through Ellis Island... granted some people back then took things into their own hands, like with the lynching of German Americans because of the influence of the world wards, but that's something else.

Why deport them? Well I don't know maybe because they take f**king advantage of the government's money? They don't even pay taxes yet they get f**king health care and public education. My family is an immigrant family. All of us waited six years to immigrate to the United States, and we started out terribly. Besides the fact that my parents didn't have a career, they had to pay for f**king taxes mexicans don't want to pay for.
Call me racist or ignorant I don't give a shit. I understand though why they would immigrate illegally. It's really hard to get into America. Petitioning someone can take up to 20 years if they even get accepted! And KarmaKiller, the situation is similar in terms of huge immigration scale going on, but really it's different. Immigration laws back then were different. America encouraged immigration back in the 1800s. And it wasn't that hard to become a legal immigrant. But now we can't just let anyone in. We're trying to control the population. |

Well it does cost money to catch them and deport them. So they're costing us money either way.

illegal immigrants take the jobs that US citizens need, for a lower pay.
usually, they go back home to mexico, or send the money to their family in mexico, and "live like kings" as i've heard it put. they can live here for 7 years Tax free if they go through with the citizenship/immigration laws. why would you, as a business owner, pay a landscaper upwards of $20 an hour when you can pay an illegal immigrant less than $7 an hour, who'll work their ass off MORE than a US citizen, just so they can stay in the country and not get deported. it's not a joke when you hear people say about Ill.Immigrants "they took our jobs". because they do. but it's not just their fault, it's businesses faults as well, for going through with employing them. it's not right on the fact that maybe they're trying to make an honest living, and can't stand working or living in mexico, or whatever country they came from... but they can at least try to become US citizens. |

I AGREE BUT, also i've heard fromt here side sometimes its so bad over there in different countries NOT JUST F**KING MEXICO, that it's so bad over there they have to leave with there family to provide better. some cant wait a few months/years in their country for citizenship to come here my dad came here illegally because of that, but as soon as he came here and saved up enough money off he went to get his citizenship and he is now legal =] |

well the one thing i think you guys don't realize is that most of them use "fake" SSNs and they DO pay taxes they just don't get tax returns like we do. so don't sit there and say they "Take advantage of the government" beccause we get money back when they don't. you know what i'm sorry but if i was in the position they are in, in mexico i would do ANYTHING possible to help my family. even if it meant going to another country and working my ass off to take care of them. i don't want to sit here and say that i think it's okay for people to brake the law and be here illegally. i just think that they should revise the laws a little bit.
Have any person born in the US take the citizenship test that they have to take to become legal. I am pretty smart and i know i wouldn't pass that test. whatever. that's the beauty of america you all have the freedom to have your opinion about this. but the majority of the jobs hispanics take white people think are below them and dont say that's not true because i know it is. ive heard people say it. |

Because we claimed it and took over it, and we've run it for a couple hundred years, and if anyone disagrees then sucks for them. Let's see them try to take it back. |

Illegal immigrants ARE hurting America. If people would LEGALLY immigrate here then there wouldn't be a problem. My parents both legally came here from Nigeria and became citizens. And they actually pay taxes. a-f**king-men. I immigrated to ireland for a while and i became a citizen... I could have taken the easy way and flew there and then pretended i was a tourist but no i went though the whole f**king painstaking process. so f**k that. |
