I was pleasantly surprised to see this post.

My teacher just started to do this type of..teaching.
I really haven't decided what I want to do. I think I want to do Drawing, but I haven't thought of -any- areas of concentration. I want to do people for sure though. Just not sure..how I'll do it yet. We have to take all our own pictures -- you're doing that also, no?

I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed by the resource file & taking pictures.
I start thinking about it all and I'm like "Eek! gotta get this & that done."

How many projects will you be doing?

Ah I love the pandas!

I'm doing a 2D portfolio, with a concentration in chemical photography. Pretty sure it's going to be something involving character studies.

A WIP still life:

Shitty picture. I'll scan it in at school when it's finished. That glass jar is a bitch, it's like weirdly shaped.

As in, Academy of Art University? Because I'm applying for that school..

Is that the famous one in San Fran? I don't trust art schools that accept you without a portfolio review. That's just stupid. haha. My friend got accepted through a phone call interview -_-" so I don't trust that school one bit.

Wait, your friend got accepted into the Academy with just a phone interview? Or are you talking about a diff. school? lol

Yeah, just checked Facebook. She got accepted to that school through only a phone interview. No portfolio review whatsoever. That doesn't say much for the school. :T

Here is a self-portrait contest for you artists to look into. I won honorary mention last year (along with 2 other kids from my school; another girl from my school who was in AP last year won second place)

http://www.utrechtart.com/contest/index.cfm

The prizes are pretty good, especially if you're considering San Fran 's Art Institute. shrug* I know my class is most likely competing ^_^

Entries are due by Dec. 7th!

yayy!!! thanks michelle. i havent been here for awhile
this is what im working on, it's my last breadth project which i delayed for over 5 months already lol

^wow, That's so good. What are you using?

I stick to pencils, watercolors, and stippling only. haha. xD

My parents would never let me go to art school.

Are you doing it for school or fun?

That's cool. I think I'll try it once I have time. Or take a class. =)

My old teacher would thin out her acrylics with water(I think) because she didn't like the thickness. So you'd get like a...water glump of color.

er... i dont water down my acrylic, that'd just make my painting look gay since im only a beginner, but i do use glaze which thin out the acrylic too yet wont make the paint go crazy xD

Progress...

Almost done...
I finished the piece, but actually don't have a pic of it.
