i honestly think both layouts are ugly. i agree that you shouldnt have to "conform" to everyone elses standards, but i think the simple standard of "the layout shouldnt suck" is reasonable. The default myspace stick out on the right of both layouts. there is no direction in either design, it just seems like you stuck shit together.

I'm not going to bother with reading ever post you made, I read the first few.
The second layout the text is really clean and its not sharp around the edges and looks really smooth. Your layout the text is a bit sharp, maybe tone that down a bit and also its really busy by the millions of different texts you choose. Also maybe decide to hide the bottom links their showing through the image near the bottom and extending past the image. Also some other links are as well. I have to agree with Trish in the early post, I would never never never use either of these layouts.  The thunder layout the pictures with the crappy boxes behind them doesn't look all that great..Oh I finally noticed where the navigation was in your layout...see you put to much of the same text and if someone used it I'm sure who ever choose to use it would possibly have a lot of complaints about where the links were because they don't stand out and just blend in way to much. In the end, you know everyone has a different opinion on what looks good and pleasing to the eye then another person. Yea of course createblog has to have some standards; I personally wouldn't want to come on here if there was a whole bunch of shitty layouts... You win some you lose some. When your layouts were rejected you should have received a PM back saying why your layout was rejected and were in the rules it went against. And if they didn't do that then you should have PMed the moderator back and asked. |

i do agree that he shouldnt have told you to make squares instead of circles. the circles seemed to the the whole point of the design, so that's not really a critique.
it's the execution of the design that is less than impressive. |

well now that you all have degraded every little thing about my layout do u think you could go back to doing what you do? ( i would say designing, but your not right now) Because I don't think I can stand another critique right now. I personally don't think you would like to see a page full of people out there backlashing your layouts, would you? I'm sorry I said anything at all and if it sounded rude, it wasn't intentional... I just thought this was an open community and I could give feedback freely and I personally did not think my layouts WERE THAT BAD(considering I've only submitted 5) , but I was wrong ( people judge u everywhere
 )But if i can have one request: please stop talking about me/my layouts.. or at least close this topic. and IVlike I hope you took no offense to my complaint and karmakiller you too. |

Before this is closed I would like to say this...
A) You made this thread and posted links to your layouts... do you seriously think no one was going to critique it? B) To me at first I agreed with what you said to an extent but can you take criticism? (NO RUDENESS INTENDED) If you can take what everyone said into consideration rather than backing out because you can't take it. Learn to take it. It will help your designs in the long run. I know how you may feel because everyone does that ... But this is the internet. You placed your layouts on here to be judged and used. Sorry if you didn't know but your layouts get judged. And my suggestion? Take the critique some of these people are saying because some of its true. Suck it up. The end.

Honestly Deary, you came on here and complained why your layouts were being accepted, we asked to view them so we could give you a better reasoning as to why they were rejected. Like I said people have different views and opinions and with anything design related you better be open to constructive criticism because if you can't take the heat then you better get out of the kitchen so to speak.

its not the criticism thats bothering me: its the fact you all are still discussing this even after the discussion is over. And you need to learn a thing about difference b/w criticism and demeaning.
(i dont care if the grammar is wrong) its easier to learn how to fix your layouts when someone says it kindly that when someone says: YOUR LAYOUTS SUCK. and why can't we just leave it? b/c I don't care enough to argue with you.. especially when we are arguing over something that will have no outcome or use |

Honestly from some of the comments I could see them as unkind but a lot of others I just think your taking them the wrong way. This is the internet and you don't actually know how the person feels and if someone is just being honest with you then I don't think its really all that unkind.
Your layouts need some work in my earlier post I said what would make it look better. *shrug* you win some you lose some, get over it in lamest terms it isn't the end of the world. // lol i'm not arguing with you at all, see your assuming the wrong thing. But since you want to drop it so bad and want this topic closed then PM a head or admin to close it if you so please
