Alright.
I just started at this forum not long ago And I can already see so many people telling each other (which is extremely brave) about their personal experiences, in which many include eating disorders. This will be a way to convince you to at least TRY to stop. There are 3 types: Anorixia Nervosa Bullimia nervosa And the Binge-eating disorder. Now, Ive suffered from ALL OF THEM. It is not a game. And it is certainly not funny. Let me clear things up a bit: Each of the Eating disorders have a psychological side and a physical side to it. Anorexia- Psychologic would be the fear of gaining weight. The physical side of it... well you can imagine. Bullimia- Psychologic would be the urge to purge, and obviously, the physical is binge/purge series. Binge-eating disorder. - Pretty obvious. IIt is not FUN. It is not a DIET. and it will not make you happy or skinny forever. Take this as an example: My friend was bullimic. She wanted to lose weight when she was PERFECTLY fine. Now, she throws up everything she eats. She has an increased heart beat, her oesophogus is practically in ruins, she has teeth erosions, irregular/missing periods, and the list of medical problems go on. Yes, she does lose weight. And she reached anorexia physically. ![]() SHE WOULD GAIN WEIGHT. Because her metabolism is so low, that even if she ate an apple, she could gain weight. Do you want to be where she was before? Its not a game everyone. Girls out there - its very hypocritical of me to tell you to stop, but I just want you to have the best life you can. Its horrible I dont have all the time now to tell you about the full medical problems, but I can tell you: ITS NOT ABOUT BEING SKINNY. ITS ABOUT BEING HEALTHY. Good luck to all. Girllikeme. |

Thank you for this..the story was very inspirational..but I would find it hard to believe if someone had a eating disorder and they would stop when they read this. I mean, I'm sure they've heard it all before. Its easy saying it but it is hard to actually take action.

A lot of people need more help than reading this, but this might convince some people to go seek that help. People who have had an eating disorder are more likely to get it back again, it's not something that just goes away... it's an urge that's always there.

I read an article about a woman who went back to her bulimic habits when she became pregnant. The whole time, she couldn't stop throwing up even though it could hurt the baby. Her eating disorder from earlier in her life made her bones so brittle that the doctors weren't sure that her pelvis could stand the birth or not.
The health consequences last for your whole life if they go far enough... |
