Do they sell knock off brands of like Burberry, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Dior at your local department stores? They do that ALOT here. I see alot of Burberry and LV. I don't see too much of Gucci, Prada or Dior. Do you own any knock offs? Do you own any of the real brands? Do you like the knock offs or the regular brands better? What's your favorite expensive brand? Which do you like better?

I don't see any knock offs at department stores around here.. I don't own any knock offs or these real things. shrug.gif I do however prefer the real over the fake - usually. It all depends on the quality for me.

Hmmm.... do you mean actual fakes? Or just wanna-be bags that kinda look like the originals. I see wanna-be's all the time, but I never see "real fake" bags being sold b/c, well, it's illegal.

nope, i don't see knock-offs in department stores. there is a store that i dont' remember the name of that sells extremely cheap and ugly wannabe coach purses, except instead of C plastered everywhere it's an O or something.

which i will never understand because coach is just tacky in the first place. but i like their zippers. which... isn't exactly what their purses are are all about, but uhh. yeah.

well i suppose i just like zippers in general

I haven't seen many around my local malls right now, but I KNOW that they used to have them in the past. There used to a lot more kiosks at my local malls that sell actual knock-offs. I mean, there were even Coach ones, and Coach is even expensive compared to LV or Gucci. Now that the malls have actual Louis Vuitton and Gucci stores, as well as major department stores like Neiman Marcus, Nordstroms, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdale's, I don't think anyone would buy knock offs anymore around the mall.

I've seen purses that slightly resemble designer brand purses, but they're distinctly different that they're not exactly imitatations anymore. they're like spin-offs of designer purses, I guess. ^_^;;

I've Mainly seen Coach, LV, and Chanel knock-offs at some kiosks in plazas, but not at any of the actual major malls in my area. :P

I've never seen a knock off at the department stores around here blink.gif but my mom owns a real black fendi purse which ran her about $800 from bloomingdales. I have a LV bag that was a gift from somebody, but I knew right away it was a fake. I don't like fakes.. the paint on the outside got really messed up, but I suppose I just have a really bad fake.

I really like the real designer bags I have, but I've never actually bought any for myself. They were all gifts, since my aunts and my mom really love LV happy.gif

Not really, but at this one store, everything that's "designer" is fake. I see especially a lot of fake Chanel, Gucci, and Coach.

Somebody got me a fake Coach bag and a fake Gucci thing (I don't know what it's called.. I think it's a pencilcase? It looks like this.)

I mean, I'd rather not have a Gucci bag than have a fake one..

wal-mart to pay fendi over fake bags

There was a huge dispute a while ago when Wal-Mart was selling counterfeit Fendi bags. And at a lot of NM Last Call, Off 5th stores, there are many fake returns that end up being sold as the real thing.

So I would still be careful if you are not buying them straight from the brand name store. Get it authenticated before spending so much on a handbag!

Haha... I think that 'fake Gucci thing' is more like a sad attempt at a Coach. Gucci monogram items aren't close to looking like that.

I don't really pay attention to brand names _unsure.gif If I like it I'll buy it, if I don't then I won't.

I don't mind the "rip offs" or "lookalikes" because from afar they look like the real thing and are wayyy cheaper. Unless if you run into some kinda of fashion expert or someone who's looking way to close at what you have most people can't tell the difference.

My fake Coach from China. About $25.

A real Coach (it's modeled after). About $179.

I throb.gif knockoff purses.

However I hate the fake purses that have lowercase e's or uppercase G's instead of c's. That's a fake fake for the same price of a fake authentic purse. Stupid!

And it's ridiculously easy to spot them as well. Claire's has been doing that. I'd be embarrassed to have one of those. stubborn.gif

I see a lot of designer "inspired" bags around in departments stores. I walked through Sears the other day in Pacific Centre and saw about 10 bags that looked like Miu Miu Coffer replicas, and another 10 that looked exactly like the Chanel Coco Cabas tote.

Walk through the nightmarket/flea market and you'll find a bunch of knockoffs. I won't say I'll never buy them (my mom once bought a beige patent embossed Louis Vuitton wallet - a knockoff - in the outdoor markets of Beijing. You can hardly tell the difference), but I prefer real things, whether they're expensive or not.

I have a fake Louis Vuitton that I got in New York. It's extremely hard to tell it's a fake... it just has a weird lining inside. Compared to my mom's real one, the material and stitching is identical.

And then I have a Louis Vuitton wallet that I bought at a market in Florence, Italy. I think it's authentic. Maybe it was defective, or stolen? It was at like 10 o'clock at night in a dark area when I bought it (lol)... at first they wanted $40 Euros for it, but I told them all I had was $8 in cash, which was the truth.

I also have a fake Coach bag... but it seems like it's a little more obvious that it's a fake. I dont own a real one, so I really dont have anything to compare it to. But it's still nice. It's from New York as well.

The ones that they sell at the mall around here are really fake looking... especially the "Louis Vuitton's". I dont know why anyone would even buy one. blink.gif

As far as real bags go, Dooney and Bourke is my favorite. I have two of them. Coach is nice too, but a little too expensive for me.

Ugh. I would rather not have a designer purse than have a fake one. I also really don't like Coach. I love that feeling I get when I get a new bag.

:) China Town man.
I'm not really into all that stuff, but I do know, thanks to my favorite radio show, China Town is a good place to get knock offs.

I don't mind having the knockoff ones as long as you can pull it off as being real. I mean, I once saw a shirt that said "A bread crumb and fish". (You guys can guess what it was modeled off of.) mellow.gif

wtf.
a fake is a fake.
does it even matter if it has c's instead of a g's.
what difference does it make?
