A few years. Then I guess I just slowly quit feeding them o_O and gave up.

OH and I use to win a fish at the county fair like every year and those only lasted a few weeks. Cheap fishies >_>

Goldfish shouldn't die easily. In fact, they're quite hardy little things. If they die within the month, then you're either severely overstocking your tank or aren't keeping a close eye on ammonia and nitrate levels. Get test kits and remember that the average goldie needs 10 gallons of water. Each.

Just last week I lost my fantail, Belle, to dropsy. She was 14 years old.

Dont buy goldfish. mellow.gif

My boyfriend bought me one AGES ago and "bobby" live to be about 10 months old; then died. (he was a goldfish, he was bought at a local fair) he out-lived all the other ones. _smile.gif

Maybe your not doing something right... Perhaps the feeding patterns arent right for goldfish. Or maybe the lighting? Oxygen? there are 3541684651684 diffrent things it could be. _unsure.gif

no offense to you fish lovers =D
I raise goats instead! Actually, I live on a goat farm. I even eat my own goats (only the males), and train them to pull carts and stuff!
