I look at their attitude and how well they treat me. Also, how often they ask to refill my cup and of course the free stuff _smile.gif

Basically I estimate the 15% and go from there.

I imagine they make the cookie before hand? Or maybe they have this bubble like thing w/ the paper in it, then it blows up to the proportion of the cookie, then when it's been made, it deflates, and leaves the paper in there?

I usually tip at least/around 20%. I notice how the service is and the attitude of the servers. Since I work in a restaurant, I notice those things a lot more and tip better because I sympathize with them.

i tip at least $2, regardless of what my meal costs. if its a $5 meal, i still tip $2 (and yeah, there are restaurants with nice food for $5!). if it's $10, i'll give $3 or so. if it's in the $15-20 range, i'll give probably $5. i thinkk i'm pretty generous with tipping. i don't really ever eat at restaurants that cost over $10 in general though.

i work in a restaurant and visit every single table to offer more free food, drinks, and just to be at each customer's beck and call like every 5-10 minutes. i get tipped nothing.

it's hard work. waiters at other restaurants definitely should get tipped. at mine, getting no tips as a breadgirl is the norm.

My mom is completly rude at resturants she leaves like two dollars and if they are bad she just writes them a note as to why they don't deserve to be tipped and how to change it with no money. rolleyes.gif

i use a tip calculator.

its not a bad thing, i just dont see the point of giving excessive tips.

this isnt a one-sided opinion either. i'm a delivery driver and rely on tips for the majority of my paycheck.

Damn, your mom is a bitch. If I was her waitress, I would spit in her food.

Usually how quick they bring food out, how nice they are, how many times they ask if we need anything, etc.

things that i consider:

- if they were glad (at least pretended to be glad) to serve us.
- if they were active in serving us.

the standard tip for me is 20% but it can definitely go up/down.
