It doesn't take much for me to lose respect for people. It can be something as simple as a little white lie. I will be respectful towards them though(well it depends).

I always pay respect to other people
but if I'm being insulted or confronted and I feel like it really hurts and I can't take it! I retort directly.

I lost pretty much all my respect for my brother. I'd always held him with such high regards and we were always great friends, but then I found out what he was hanging around with the wrong crowds and that he was getting into drugs and stuff, and that really caused me to lose a lot of respect for him.

And I also find it hard to respect people who have no respect for themselves.

QUOTE(Claudel @ Aug 10 2007, 07:15 AM) *
I have no respect for liars.

That and those who manipulate, backstab and think the world owes them a favor. It doesn't.

I have no respect for people with no regard to those with disabilities. "Friends" of mine completely stopped talking to me when they found out my kid was diagnosed with autism. That's just, unforgivable, let alone the respect I lost for them.

^o_O wow that's horrible that people actually do things like that. I mean I can believe it but just ugh I can't have any respect for people like that either.

Although to the topic..do I lose respect for people who do dumb/stupid things? No not really, although of course it just matters on the situation at hand. The only person I can really think of that would fall under this would be my Mother. I've lost so much respect for her over the years and theres no way she could possibly gain it back at the rate its going.

My mom, when she left the family willing to love and forgive her, for my step-father. The man that constantly lied to her and hurt her and terribly abused me. Then years later, once he became too abusive towards me and the tension between us really disturbed the household- finally too much for her to ignore...I got shipped off to live with my grandparents, an hour away. She chose him over me, her daughter. I see and talk to her a just couple times a year now. Not only that, but she stayed in the relationship with someone who had no respect for her even when her family offered plenty of chances for her to leave, to be forgiven and loved. But no, she wanted a man, any man, more than she wanted that. You might say I've lost quite a bit of respect for my "mother".
