it really frustrates me to see a lot of young girls, or even guy, being sexually active, or having sex,
but not knowing anything about what theyre doing.

for instance, i have a friend
who had sex her first time, didnt use a condom and took the morning after pill because she was paranoid,
had sex the next day and no condom
she freaked out and took a pregnancy test about a week later, and then another

and asked me if she could go to the doctor and if they could stick their finger up her vagina and see if she was pregnant or not?

she also asked me if you could get pregnant from dry humping....

i mean, are you kidding?

i relaly do wish people just learned about what they were doing before they started doing it.

what are your opinions on this?

im sorry this is really confusing topic ot me and i really am unsure how to word it

i just feel like people not being knowledgeable is what causes teen pregnancies, abortions, stds, and "accidents"

I have to agree. Sex is like many other things; research it before you do it.

The education system may need to start putting sex ed. classes in lower grades soon.

in my school, their is a health class
and during the year you take gym, you switch out to health a few times (but its 2 different health classes)
and you take gym your freshman year (in most cases)

and they dont teach you about these things
they teach you abotu how to avoid std's

and abstinence.
and what its like ot get pregnant

basically they try to scare you out of havign sex,
instead of teachign you about it.

whats sad, is that about i out of 10 girls in my school is pregnant or has been

This kind of reminds me of that first episode of Reba where Cheyanne thought she could only get pregnant once a month...It's funny on the show, but it's scary to think about how many kids are fooling around and they don't even have their facts straight.

How about you Guru's of Sex start a new topic named Sex Class ?:))
It doesn't really matter that much if you use a condom or a pill, because there have been lot of cases with ppl getting pregnant with any secure things ever existed, when it comes to sex and pregnancy, its all about the man, cuz the penis is in charge of that job, So first of, before getting into any acts, ask your BF if he really knows what's he's doing and secondly IF he has any condom, IF he doesn't, you should have one and pills. Its well known that mens are kinda forgetfull when it comes to condoms so its your job to, to think about all the consequices and thinks you should be prepared before you jump in bed.

I for one, used a condom only once in my life, didn't liked the feeling so since then i don't use condoms anymore, i just know how to control myself, and for sure noone got pregnant of all the sex "adventures" i ever had.

I think the bottom line is it's dangerous.

The place where I live has the highest amount of reported STDs in the state, so I know all about people being irresponsible. A lot of young people are gulliable and trust the wrong people. (Like a guy telling his girlfriend it's okay do this and that.) I'm surprised that people aren't educated on this stuff before they do it. If they don't teach the stuff in school than I think parents should take on the responsiblity of telling their kids about sex.

It's not always fair for some person who isn't educated about to get an STD that they'll never be able to get rid of, or get pregnant because they didn't know to use protection.

I think your post shows that you are just as ignorant as the girl mentioned in this topic.

First of all, a condom can break yes and the pill can fail yes. But with today's amount of contraceptives, there's no excuse for stupidity. The pill rarely fails. The most common side effect of the pill is not failing to prevent pregnancy but it makes the women sick or lose their libido. Condoms break but even that is not that common.

Second, you don't use a condom cause you don't like it? But you say you have self control? Do the girls have birth control? That's a stupid risk to take. That's the kinda of risk uneducated young boys take. "As long as I pull out, no mini-mes."

I agree. At my high school, Health is taught during Junior year but that's useless. I know for a fact that many of my peers were already sexually active or taking drugs or drinking.

I think abstinence only sex ed classes do more harm than good.

People take sex so lightly these days, and it's so crazy!
It used to be a big deal to have sex, but now everybody can do it with whomever they want whenever they want without a care in the world.

I'm against pre-marital sex, but if somebody wants to do it, just know the risks and consequences before you get into it.

How i am "ignorant"? rofl that made me laugh
I believe we haven't had sex ? have we? lol so you don't really know anything about me in the first place. What i've posted was purely my opinion, but hey? everyone has one right?

PS: I can't have sex with someone i don't feel anything for, to me that's like having sex with a doll.

My first sex-ed class was in the 4th grade, and while I'm sure that scared off a few people, at that age the class was focused mostly on puberty and not sex.

basically they try to scare you out of havign sex,
instead of teachign you about it.
It's just that a ton of people find it hypocritical to say "Don't have sex. And if you are, then use a condom." I think that's a prefectly fine thing to teach, and that's how it's taught where I live, but there has been backlash, and as far as I can tell, most schools won't teach that theory and, like you said, just scare people.

And as far as people not doing their research - totally true. They really, really should do their research. However, I do have to say that I'd give the girls asking the obvious-to-us questions a liiiiitle (really, just a little, thought) credit, because I know I have a little bit of a history to be a ditz and when you're scared and unsure, especially about something as serious as sex (assuming the girls asking know it's a serious issue), you can't exactly think straight.

I think the Sex ed. classes really need to be like, rethought about because everything they teach is shit that either we already know or they don't teach us crap we don't know but should.

Anyway, I think that's absolutely stupid. I'd expect everyone to have sex ed. to at least know to have safe sex. ermm.gif Or, you know, at least know that you can't get pregnant unless there's an actual vaginal intercourse. mellow.gif mellow.gif mellow.gif But you know, if she wants to have sex w/o a condom, it's her fault. shrug.gif Her problems.

BLAAAAH. I also blame the messed-up world and messed-up media for showing teens so many sexual things. curiousity kills. :x

I agree with having sex ed a lot younger.

In fourth grade, its about puberty not sex really.

They should have it in middle school, before a lot of people go out and have sex.

Also, I think its really stupid how people think sex isnt that big. My friend wants to have sex before she is married, mostly I think, because two of her "best friends" have already had sex. We are only 14, and I dont want her to make a mistake and get pregnant.

Its the darn teenage hormones I tell you. I have to agree with you completely. So many people are victims of their own sex drives. wacko.gif I'm pretty sure half of them don't have a clue what they're getting into when they do. They should start putting sex ed. in lower classes. I had it in like 4th grade, I believe.

Wow! My Middle School Had Sex Ed In 7th Grade.....I Agree That You Should Tell Your Friend Straight Out.....Well There Are Way Too Many Girls And Boyz Running Around Having Sex Not Knowing What They Are Doing.....If They Are That Horney Then They Should Just go Buy Some Porn.....lol
They Should Only Be Doing This.....hug.gif.....Hahaha

i agree, more sex ed classes in like middle school. and parents shouldnt be able to opt their kids out of it (how stupid is that?)

we had sex ed type classes in 5th, 6th, and 8th grade. 5th was more about puberty and so was 6th (never got the reason for it two years in a row..maybe cuz not all the elemetary schools did it differently? And 8th grade was like, look at all the STD shit you can get from having sex! and they gave us a baby to carry around for 2 days..actually, we made it.. but it was just like whatever.

and then when i changed school districts i had a class, Healthy Living (which you can take whenever during high school..you just have to take it.) and we did a unit on relationships and sex and stuff... but it was really stupid and i didnt learn much from it that i already knew. and the stuff that we should be told, that i already knew, wasnt covered..
