Do girls dress up and look good for guys or do they mostly dress up to impress / make other girls jealous/ look better than and compete for better looks.

I've seen among alot more good looking women that they tend to always comment on maybe what a girl is wearing to thier friends and look them up and down thing "like eww look at that slut" and they actually dont care that much about guys they dress to look better than other girls. TRUE?

Most of the time, they dress to impress their fellow shemales. It's all about competition, dude; I dress better than you, or I'm up to date with fashion. Although some girls dress to impress guys

I've always been a jeans, t-shirt & Timbs kind of girl until I met my boyfriend. I wasn't aware of the fact that people were actullay looking or paying attention to the way I dressed. Let alone, how "dressing up" can have such a positive effect on a person. After my boyfriend and I got together all that changed. He's a designer (mainly designs women's clothing)so he has this "image is everything" and "if you're with me you have to look good cause beetches is gonna be hatin on you" type of mentality. I got my "new found" fashion sense from him. Now, because of him I have a shoe fetish (I can't go anywhere without some stilettos on) and I wear dresses now (I can't even believe that one). I have a wider variety of stuff in my wardrobe (don't get me wrong. I still looove my jeans, though. I have like, a million pair).

My friends / family be like, "girrrl, I remember when you only wore jeans & Timbs. You was so thugged out then. Now you be wearin heels & dresses. You not the same person no more. We don't even recognize you no more. You look better, dress better and you even look happier.".... I was like WHOA! My boyfriend was right!?! All that cause I didn't give a f**k about what I was wearing?! lol

I don't dress to impress other girls. I dress up because it makes me feel good and also, because it makes my man that much more attracted to me.

who cares?
i dress how i want.
if i want to wear a skirt and a nice shirt, i'll do it.
if i want to throw on a pair of jeans and a wifebeater, i'll do it.
the only time i dress up is when i like absolutely have to.
if i ever went on a date, i'd throw on jeans, a simple shirt, and a jacket.

i used to try and dress to impress.. just anyone in general, i didn't really care. i just didn't want to be seen as tacky when i got put on the spot with someone else.

now i just don't try and things work out fine :)

When i'm doing quick errands or going to like just my family's thing I tend to pay less attention to what I wear.
When I go out with my friends/bf I tend to dress like my cute self :o
I do like to dress myself up cause I love doing it :o

Yes, I do think girls do also "dress up" when they are with their friends who are girls because maybe to make them jealous or whatever. mellow.gif

It's dumb but it's true.

It depends on what I'm doing/who I'll be seeing. Usually if I want to impress a guy, I'll dress up a little bit. Or, if I'm going out with friends I'll dress nicer.

My bf is definitely one of the largest influences of the way I dress. Not even so much dressing up nice most of the time, but just making sure that what I'm wearing is appropriate/doesn't make him feel uncomfortable with other guys/people. Basically just not being revealing or trashy in the way that I dress.

Another factor is the people I'm around. As bad as it sounds, I admittedly want to dress at least as well as the people that I am surrounded by, just so that from far away I can be noticed. And dressing pretty/getting attention is of course flattery, which is nice to have and what I think girls naturally want.

That's great. I sort of agreed with your partner because image is almost everything. It does reflect who you are, but not completely. I'm amaze that he was able to change your view's outlook. About the person who told you to slap your boyfriend, i disagreed because it did make you happier and your partner encourages you to look great. Was it a good impact in your life? The changes remain forever in your future. Your relationship implies that he likes you for your personality, not for your look during the beginning of the relationship/before you dated with your partner. After awhile, he changed you.

I dress to whatever I think looks good. :D In vaaaaaain. Okay, maybe a bit for the guys, 'cause I wouldn't wear something really ugly to school, but maybe not to compete with other girls 'cause I really don't care about them unless their outfit wows me (and others). Then I'd like to wow her back.

Girls have this problem where they're very proud and jealous. Whether they admit it or not. They are.

As they get older and mature up and realize that later on in life they're gonna be old ugly ass hags they'll realize they should quit the jealousy crap and pride crap.

They're jealous/envious of other women and their lives. Their pride is in themselves. When they see another girl that isn't as good lookin as them at a club, they're pleased and happy. Because they're just that much more proud of themselves for being who they are. But when they come across another female and she's not as hot as that other girl, she gets jealous cuz all the guys are givin that other girl the attention. Or the girl has a better outfit, or the girl has a better perfume on, or the girl's hair is pretty etc...

So in saying that, women don't just dress good for guys. They dress good for anything and everything, even if it's for a stupid ball game... they'll go shopping for the right clothes to wear for the baseball game when all they need is a damn t-shirt and some shorts (assuming it's a warm day). They're out to impress so their bottle of pride fills up some more.

Ive been a tomboy, now Ive bought some more dressy shirts.
I dont do it for the guys or to make people jealous, but if I happen to get a guy off of that, then thats good. :]

But Im not doing to dress a certain way for a guy or to make someone jealous.
