Actually it's a Mayan myth. I'm partially Mayan. Some people say its either the end of the human being or the end of all the Mayan decents.

im not all that religious or anything, but my boyfriend says that the bible has pretty much predicted everything, including 9/11 (the fall of Babylon).

And the way things are going, it looks like all the revelations are going to come true. 12, 21, 2012 seems like a fair date to me.

QUOTE(Chii @ Aug 8 2005, 06:15 AM) *
two brothers falling due to a bird could have meant anything.

2012 is only 7 years away, what can possibly happen in a span of 7 years that will doom all mankind?

Global Warming?
And this already started showing all over the globe, like raining in desert's, snowing in the middle of the summer, small tornado's in some parts of the world where it could never happen. So in the end if the season's will change all this could happen even in less then 7 years.

QUOTE("Goddard Space Flight Center")
Science Question of the Week

How can it be, that on a hot summer day, when it thunders - it's actually snowing like mad overhead?

Most everyone understands that when the temperature is above 0 degrees C at the surface, any precipitation that falls from the sky will do so in the form of rain. But the thing to remember is that temperature decreases rapidly with height, during all seasons, even on the hot days of summer. In fact, temperature decreases at an average rate of 6.5 deg C per km of ascent. By the time you ascend inside thunderclouds to 5 or 6 km, the temperature is below zero - which means that ice particles (snowflakes, graupel, hail) are mixed in with the rain. In fact, at temperatures below -20 C inside a thunderstorm (a height of 9-10 km), most of the precipitation is in the form of ice. As these ice particles bump together in the turbulent updraft and grow larger, they become heavy enough to fall through the cloud. And once they pass below the 0 deg C level, all the ice melts into liquid, and the result is a rain shower.
Next time it thunders, on a warm spring or summer day, just remember...if there is lightning, there is a lot of ice suspended over your location several miles overhead...so much in fact, that it would resemble a blizzard if you flew a plane directly inside!

This week's question is from Dr. Jeffrey Halverson. Dr. Halverson investigates severe storms at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, serves as the Education and Outreach Scientist for NASA's Tropical Rainfall Measurement Mission satellite, and teaches courses on meteorology at the University of Maryland Baltimore County. He holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences and writes a column on interesting weather phenomena in the bi-monthly publication Weatherwise. Dr. Halverson is also an avid amateur astronomer and enjoys hiking throughout the Mid Atlantic to better understand the region's complex geology.

I for one don't believe in any predictions, its all about people whom are trying so hard to find some sort of "truth" under some things that happen in the past whom eventually take anything as granted by assuming that's what really happen from X words of an X blind deaf and semi retarded person whom have spoken for the first time in their life in such called riddles.

QUOTE
summerschool teacher said that a guy predicted that and he was also the one who predicted 9/11 [said something about 2 brothers falling due to a bird; the 2 brothers = twin towers; bird = airplane].

Maybe 2 brothers were trying to catch their birdy after it escaped? rofl, cuz for sure the twin towers weren't hit only by 1 plane so that's pretty much irrelevant.

Another retarded thing, i pretty much saw all the movies about 9/11 and in one of them some policeman said that the authorities findout that the towers were attacked by AlQaida terrorists after the first tower got hit by that plane and "SOMEHOW" a passport of one off the terrorist that were in the plane whom crashed into the tower was found down in the middle of the street intact with no scrach or burned at all, so that's how all the AlQaida BS started.

Rofl how retarded can you be to believe such BS ? LOL! but Hey it happen in America so "ANYTHING" is possible.

QUOTE
Crash-Proof Passport
Hijacker's Passport and a Landing Gear Fragment Alone Survive Fiery Crash

According to ABC News and the Associated Press, the passport of hijacker Satam Al Suqami was found a few blocks from the WTC. 1 2 The Guardian was skeptical: "the idea that Atta's passport had escaped from that inferno unsinged [tests] the credulity of the staunchest supporter of the FBI's crackdown on terrorism." 3 Note the passport did not belong to Atta, as is commonly claimed.

Satam Al Suqami was supposedly on Flight 11, the plane that hit the North Tower. In that collision, the building's core absorbed almost the entire airplane, which hit the northeast wall nearly dead center.

QUOTE
In less than a week came another find, two blocks away from the twin towers, in the shape of Atta's passport. We had all seen the blizzard of paper rain down from the towers, but the idea that Atta's passport had escaped from that inferno unsinged would have tested the credulity of the staunchest supporter of the FBI's crackdown on terrorism.
Of course you could interpret these discoveries differently. You could detect in them the clear hand of American propaganda. This isn't, of course, to claim a dirty tricks department somewhere in the heart of Washington. That would have you immediately accused of peddling conspiracy theories, though I'm coming to think that conspiracy theories have had a bad press. What are they, after all, but "joined-up government" by another name?

All these discoveries can't obscure four things that American intelligence agencies have notably failed to find. First, even with a bloated expenditure exceeding Russia's total defence budget, they never managed to find out about September 11 before the event. Rhodri Jeffreys-Jones's new book, Cloak and Dagger: A History of American Secret Intelligence (Yale), shows how, almost since their 19th-century inception, American intelligence bureaux have invented or exaggerated a succession of menaces to defend their spiralling budgets and demonstrate their own usefulness while failing to tackle effectively other, more substantial threats.

Second, despite a reward of $2.5m offered at the end of January, the FBI still hasn't discovered those responsible for last year's anthrax attacks.

Third, American intelligence, tragically, didn't find Daniel Pearl, the US journalist kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan.

Fourth - and most spectacular - despite having highly sophisticated satellite tracking equipment, and offering a reward of $25m for information leading directly to his apprehension or conviction, they still haven't found Bin Laden.

Is this one reason why the US is talking about an attack on Iraq - a flexing of the military biceps to distract from flabby intelligence? Whatever the case, to find one training manual might be regarded as a stroke of luck. To find a shelf-full looks like desperation

There is so much BS in all 9/11 stories that i can't belive a word of it.
Another thing, if this would have happen in another country EVERY piece of evidence could have been seen by entire population of that X country, but guess what? in America the video tapes misteriously dissapear so noone could see what Really happen in the first place, but Hey maybe Aliens came by and stolen all those hundreds of videotapes ;))))
Thats how it is living in a country where your breakfast are lies and you are so stupid and retarded that you eat em daily without even noticing anything strange about it.

God Bless America, cuz they Really need it.

I think this is all some bullshit just to scare people.

People said that the world was going to end many times.

Has it happened yet?

No.

People need to stop being so paranoid and lighten the f**k up.

Um.

Anything?

Nuclear War.
Plague.
Polar ice caps melt.
Super tornadoes/hurricanes/tsunamis/earthquakes.
Meteor.

Seriously, anything could happen. Your basically just saying, "Well, it can't get any worse than this, can it?"

Then bam.

We die.

Great.

Shut up. People were scared and willing to believe anything. The greatest power you can hold over someone is fear. I don't give a shit how smart you think you are, if you didn't live it, you don't have a right to f**king laugh at it.

It's so easy to laugh at it when someone else pointed out that it was wrong, right?

It's BS.

Not sure if someone's already raised this point, but think of how many people make doomsday statements.

Now, eventually, don't you think they're bound to get one right?

Out of the millions of people who make these predictions, it's only natural that one of them will come true eventually.

No-one can KNOW when the end of the world is coming. Except the country that launches the bomb.
