I'd like to propose an official members lounge. It'd be pretty much the same as the current lounge, except it would only be open to official members (and everyone else that's not just a common member)

be a nice way to give another perk, and give people a place to bond without all the riff raff getting in and interfering.

I'm against it. Why? If all these official members knew each other so well, it would completely change the atmosphere between members and official members. This idea will isolate members to feel left out and unwelcome. Our forum boards are already filled with inside joke and private thoughts between two friends when no one understands them. This will strongly separate two people if your idea became accepted.

If you're a newcomer, you notice official members know each other so well and you don't. How would you feel? Will you be encouraged to join them when you don't know them? Would you feel different that they don't know you but they know each other? What if official members talk about things from official member forum, and you don't know what the hell they're talking about because you don't have access to private forum.

Why must official member and member not be family? ARENT WE FAMILY AS A COMMUNITY? besides, we have 84 offical members. how many are them are really active?

* i hope you're aware of the new official member rules.

i'm sorry steven, but when did your english get that good? that was not in any way meant to be mean, but that is not how you usually talk.

on the other hand, should p/ms be taken away, then if we can't have exclusiveness?

what? Lol. I’m using AIM style of writing. I'm losing the habit of forum style because I’m not very active in cb forum anymore. I’m more please and comfortable to use AIM style. _unsure.gif

Although createblog has a sizeable community, it lacks its own fun subculture. When I say subculture, I want to distinguish it from the retarded circlejerk that is CBchat. If anything, the various cliques and clubs that people formed do more to alienate newcomers.

Are you concerned about mod-member relationships then? How come I don't see you paranoid about the Backstage forum?

What a piece of shit.

I do agree that the cb lacks fun subculture. I feel that official members serve an important role as a family. Official members should be widely active in forums (at least a fair amount of people), make an impact and history, encourage members to join by promoting positive attitude, expanding populations, being considerate rather than turning newcomer away with profanity, and learn to work well in any environment. Again, we're family and there are reasons why official member status was designed to make this site better for everyone, not to alienate others. I'm not implying that we should completely stop having fun to be in a strict working mode. Honestly, I really do hope a better solution to increase member interactivity. The idea of private forum sounds very unfortunate for the newcomers, if a private forum was created, but at least we already have communication technology such as cbchat, telephone, sub domains, myspace, or whatever social networking activity. do you think it's worth a risk to add another section?

I don't know exactly why I'm not paranoid about the backstage forum. It was micron's idea in the first place. I expect him to know what he is doing so let him do whatever he wants. also, i expect him to temporarily shut guest viewing to increase more interested members & sign ups, after he's done with the tracker. i know for a fact that many people are coming here for the tracker. Let's hope this method will work, if all old or active members are willing to be more dedicated.

The majority, if not all, of the mods support this so the only thing the admins are waiting on is Ju-Sun's approval.

when they make the forum, they can choose which member groups are allowed into which forum. if you are moved down to a member, the member group won't have access to the forum, meaning you won't see it.

If the person isn't an Official Member, they aren't allowed. :[ Like Spencer mentioned, only certain user groups (such as Official Members) will have access to that particular forum.

So if you get warned and you lose that status, you won't be able to access the Official Members Lounge until you regain your Official Member status.

If you have a particular issue regarding your warn level, member status or have any questions regarding this, please feel free to PM one of the Admins if your warn level is at 0 so that you can be promoted to Official Member again. PM any of moderators (including Head Staff and Admins) if it has been at least 2 weeks since you were warned (unless there were certain circumstances involved, like a long suspension) and you feel like your warn level should be lowered.

Just to let you all know, Ju-Sun has been PMd about this but he is probably way busy right now. Other than that, like Mona said, this is a go. =)

Because it's his forum. =) I just would feel more comfortable having his approval. I know, the waiting sucks and I'm sorry for that.

i understand, but did we get approval on the contest forum? obviously he trusts ya'lls judgment or he wouldn't have defend you the other day. he himself even said that he's more on the back end, so i don't see why he'd care on the front end.

Well, the thing is, the Contest Forum isn't member group specific. I'm not exactly how he would feel about having a member group specific forum.

This sounds like a great idea but I also think you should include members who are avid posters but are not an official member. Like have the miniumum(Sp) requirement to be 2500 post or something like that for the members who are not official memebers.

Well, once you reach 3500 posts, you become a permanent Official Member unless you get warned and have your Official Member status stripped. If that happens, once your warn level has been reduced to 0, have an Admin re-promote you to Official Member and you will be set.

Also, I think that it was decided that Official Designers would be allowed as well. If it wasn't, may I propose (or re-propose =X) that they are?
